Has anyone else had a look at MSE's new super-duper mortgage calculator? It shows the power of overpaying. I am quite excited by the possibility of my mortgage being paid off in 5 years if I can overpay £800 a month. Or in 4 years if we overpay £1000 a month!!!! Only time will tell if this is really possible but any reduction is a good reduction :)

    Hi fluffysox,

I've had a play around on MSE's new super-duper mortgage calculator and if I've done it correctly then for every 1.00 extra I pay, I also save another .15p It doesn't sound a lot but it has certainly been the incentive I need to stop me going into Tea Shops, Coffee Shops, Sweet Shops, Restaurants and Newsagents, all those 1.00 s add up.

, I did make an overpayment in February but I think I delayed posting about it in the hope that I would add something to it, and then I didn't, so I'm going to have to come back to you with my February amount.

Also have put in any money earned from surveys, quidco and of course Percy the Mortgage Pig. Well done everyone :D.

    #29 reporting for March.

Forgot to add a post here - have an automated overpayment coming out on the first of the month, which in fact cleared today.

My aim for 2010 is £6,000 OP, ie £500.00 per month. Third OP takes year to date total to £1,500, ie 25% of the £6k objective.

    Updated via form.

Rsdiscos here - made a payment of 7.88 today - cashback from quidco. OPs have dried up as we've had a few unexpected expenses - such as new tumble dryer, car mot and service (more than we bargained for, and new glasses for me! For the amount they cost, i could have employed someone at visionexpress to wear them for me for a year!!!
