    Mortgage-free Glee!
    Morning Folks,

Back from 3 weeks in Vegas. Somewhat pathetically, the majority of the flight home was spent on the laptop estimating the latest SOA figures, planning the remaining overpayments and generally wittering on about mortgage freedom to a now less than enthusiastic girlfriend. I definitely sense my joy at being mortgage free will be matched or exceeded by her joy at me not going on about it anymore!

So, as of today, £12,000 of a balance has become £9,000. I'm treating the jaunt into 4 figures as a major landmark and literally counting down the remaining 92 days of being burdened (albeit less so) by a mortgage.

    As at 02/08/10:

    Mortgage Payment: £827.06
    Interest Accrued: -£14.17
    Overpayment: £2,187.11
    2010 OPs: £16,294.72
    Balance: £9,000

    Billy (#17)
    Mortgage Free: 28/10/2010
    Time / Interest Saved: 18.5 years / £61,866.50

Well done Billy, that's great :j
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

Well only managing a minute OP this month as DH lost his job in July and we're officially brassic! We've just got a new car too so things are especially dicey! I've kept both our SO at £10 for now so we still OP by £20 a month. I'm hoping of course, that he finds a new job quickly and we can up it to our previous levels!

The good thing to come out of this is that it's been a bit of a wake up call and it's made me more determined than ever to be MF. I've gone through outr budget again and switched again etc etc so saved us an extra £30 or so there per month... when things are better will up the OP to compensate I think as reading on here makes me realise how huge our mortgage is!

Also starting to do the grocery challenge over on Old Style which has been an eye opener and I've started cooking a lot more from scratch. So I've found a little silver lining there!

Anyway, my stats for Aug are

    £20 / £1205 / £1500

I am still going to try really hard to get to that £1500 target!!
    MFW 2015 so far..... £1808.70
    :) 2014 - £1451 2013 - £1600 2012 - £4145 2011 - £5715 2010 - £3258:)
Big new mortgage from 2017
