I am sorry to hear that Leo has died and that you have had such a horrible day. It does sound like a hard time for your little boy which in turn means a hard time for you. I can only imagine that whatever spirit is needed to get out of debt you must have in spades, as you have succeeded and it will get you through again. Bad days come, but as I have been reminded by this site over the last 24 hours - bad days go.

Sorry to hear about the smearing JD. I think it's amazing how well you manage with 4 children as a single parent, especially as I think you said once that some of your kids have special needs. I know I'm not made of the sort of stuff that could cope so I'm full of admiration for you. Goodness knows what would have happened to any kids of mine in that situation. I found just one with a supportive husband could be pretty trying at times!

With all that to deal with and you sorted out your debt and are now saving for England, lol.

Hasn't your son's school broken up yet? I hope he'll settle down in the hols and that you'll find a way to re-assure him about school before he goes back.

Hi JD! Sorry - not been around much recently, life's been a bit crazy.

I am so sorry to her you've had a bad week with pants things going on.

However the party sounds fab and the whole bring a fiver for a pizza idea is excellent! I might nick that one day! ;)

Enjoy honey! And remember.....things will get much better soon. Peaks & troughs and all that. Keep the faith remember? :)

    hi all.

just an end of the month update:)

july was my first month of being debt free, and this month i have:

    * saved 42.56 in the jam jar challenge! i used to save 5,2,1ps, but since i have been chucking in 10 and 20ps it has grown so quickly! i have managed to save over half of the challenge total in just a month and i have another four months to go.....i think i might aim for the piggy bank instead and i think that this money can go towards presents as well as food!

    * managed to save £54 in £2 coins!!! i banked £50 of this today, this also is going towards xmas

    * i have sold stuff on ebay and got payment due from quidco which brings my olympic challenge up to £86.99 yay! i have another 100 quid to come from quidco and some more things to list on ebay, nearly 1/10th of the way there though so am really pleased with that!

    * opened a yorkshire bank regular saver with £100 and am aiming to add £100+ to this account each month.

    * hisave account is looking good, have £178 in there, just waiting to find out how much interest ive earned in the next few days:D

    * im keeping within my grocery budget and personal spends budget so far so good!

    financially a very good july:)

    oops edited to say:

    * PMS for july total 13.21 (not bad but not great!)

Congratulations on all the savings in July - I haven't added it all up but it looks pretty impressive.

Yep i'm almost there, I've got 2 ccs at 0%. one with most on it finishes in late September and I'm not sure about the other, later than that anyway and probably October, but I'm determined to have them paid off before the deals end.
