    Thanks Verbatim:D

    Just a little update!

well, i have joined in practically every challenge going on the boards to make my money stretch as far as i can and stick every penny possible into savings. it has taken so long to become debt free that im almost a little scared about taking my eye off the ball for a second and end up slipping back into debt:(

    Hiya JD.

Don't worry - I reckon that DFW-ness is ingrained now for life now in all of us ;).

    You'll be OK.

I'm sure you of all people have nothing to worry about on the frittering away money score! Well done again on dfness and good luck with the savings plan. Are you saving for anything in particular or just to have an emergency fund sort of thing?

    thanks verbatim:)

i want to save for a garden shed type thing lol i dont own my house so want to have a shed built for me so i can house TD, chest freezer etc so my dining room no longer looks like a chinese laundry:D

aiming for about a grand so will be saving for that in a separate account and other than that just keeping a general savings pot for my future.

i still want to keep as careful as i have been doing all the time i have been paying off the debt so my savings will grow as fast:)

    Thanks for updating JD.
The way you dealt with the debt was incredibly determined and well organized and I'm sure you've got it well worked out and will have your shed (shed doesn't do it justice sounds quite posh for a shed lol)in no time.

Hope it's as sunny where you are as it is here (now).

    morning all:)

have done quite well this week:D

managed to keep within moozies challenge, spent 3.08 out of 10.00! that was on lemonade and chocolate though lol

PMS total is now 9.21 (only restarted this in the last week, aim is for this money to go towards christmas prezzies)

olympic challenge is doing reasonably well, mainly through ebay sales, however i have a nice 135 quid coming from quidco over the next month or two so i am hoping to reach the bronze target of 1000 by december:)

change jar challenge is doing really well, its amazing how this adds up really fast especially when you include 20p's:D

have closed all bank accounts that i no longer use (and believe me there were a lot lol) but have opened an ISA and a savings account for the olympic challenge:)

have also joined the How Much Can You Save Olympic Challenge. In my first month of debtfreeness, i have managed to save 7.48% of my annual disposable income!!!

there has been quite a few bits to pay out for too, my eldest son needed school uniform as he goes up to senior school in september, that little lot cost me 75.25:eek:

but on the upside there are no birthdays this month:D or any in august which is great lol

    just needed a vent

    what a PANTS PANTS week

my kitten leo died last night, i am very upset:( children are sad too but i think the other kittens are keeping them occupied.

since DS3 changed classrooms and moved up to the "infants" part of his school (they do this 2 weeks before end of term so its not such a shock in september), he has started smearing again:( every night for the last 4 weeks except when we went camping. its really getting to me. DS1 and 2 are really helpful and even DD is great about it too but it gets me down. this is when i find being a single parent hardest of all. DS3 hasnt done this for 18 months, and i thought that would be the end of it, i guess the change was too much for him.

sorry:( just finding it all a bit much atm
