    Oh what a good thread!!

    OK what will I do?

Firstly, just enjoy not worrying about money constantly and never ever get into debt again!
In the money front, start saving so we have a couple of months worth of money in the bank. Then tackle the montgage. We don't have a huge mortgage or a long term but it would be good to get it gone!!!

When I'm debt free I hope to build up savings, change my car and I would love to learn to skydive:D Whenever I'm having a bad day debt wise I go on YouTube and watch the skydive videos which encourages me to stick with it.

  • When i`m debt free in around 2yrs time i will start to overpay my mortgage, hopefully then me & the other half can think about buying a house together (that in itself will be a hell of a lot cheaper & we`ll only have 1 of everything, council tax, mortgage, utilities) as at present we both have a mortgage on our own houses!

  • Love this thread :)

    When I'm debt free I'm going to;
buy lots of clothes (I haven't done any real clothes shopping for about 10 years!)
    Buy a new sofa
Go back to taking trapeze lessons
Look into buying a two bed house with a garden to replace my one bed flat
  • What a nice idea for a thread.

When we're finally debt free (should be free of most of the debt by March 2011) we intend to:

    • Save to put new carpet down in our house / flooring in kitchen (previous owners left a manky carpet!)
    • Buy a new TV - nothing flash, just a normal 32" one for the lounge
    • Try to have our first child, hoping we haven't left it too late due to the amount of debt we have previously been in.
    • Basically try and build up our savings for a simple, yet healthy and happy rest of our lives. :D

You don't need to be debt free to learn another language! I've just started an evening class in Italian, although I don't know how much it'd cost as I'm on benefits and got it for free.

There are secondary schools around the UK that have been designated language colleges and they usually provide free evening lessons to the adult community.

I have managed to get us out of debt (£32,000)and I have been busy tucking every penny I can away,:jmy husband had a letter from work saying there may be some redundancies. He works for an agency so no redundency pay.:eek:I have managed to save £10,000 so far,by selling stuff on ebay, car boots and watching what we spend on food, ect.I make sure every penny counts.When/if the threat of losing his job goes away we might have a holiday(with a budget)but for the moment I am going to keep building up the savings. My husband has no idea we have savings because he will want to buy a car or some other luxuries,I need peace of mind.
