You really are a great, witty and natural writer. So go for it. You really do put many of us to shame, i am one of those CONSTANT:rolleyes: struggling writers and have no natural comedy ability at all, if i had i might have had a bit more luck LOL.
Looking forward to the next installment.Success means having to worry about every thing in the world......EXCEPT MONEY. Johnny Cash

Chapter subtitle - Debt Gorillas/Guerillas - How to deal with stroppy bailiffs (Without Resorting To Homicide)
Well, my friends, I have spent the last few hours slaving away over my accounts, and I have discovered that far from owing Gordon Brown's Little Helpers any money, they actually owe ME £650!!!! WoooHoooo! I'll have that back! Gods I love sticking my hand in Brown's wallet (ooh err missus) and taking back my hard earned cash. Can imagine the crowds of pale VAT personnel huddling round the Outgoing Mail tray, gnashing their teeth and gibbering as the rebate cheque is brought down by Head VAT Officer, followed by his retinue of slavering clerks. The procession halts in front of the tray, and the HVO stoops, unwilling to deposit the precious cheque. He suddenly throws the envelope into the tray and flees - his screams of rage echo down the halls...........
(ooh, hark at me getting all writery - note to self, check 'writery' exists in dictionary - if not, add)
I think that qualifies for a whole 3 chapters of my book. I have seriously thought about it, and with you guys encouraging me, I think I might just do this. I was considering a sort of cross breed autobiography/how to set up & run a small business for non-business types. I reckon there's too many books that assume you have a degree in business under your belt, not for people like me who went for their dream without considering the paperwork side of things. I wanted to have a little cross stitch shop, not do what I did before (PA) on a tenth of the pay. I haven't picked up my needle in months, if not years.....Probably include a heathy dose of DFW stuff, as I have experience of that!!
Just want to say thanks for all the words of encouragement - you're all so kind, I enjoy posting my blog, thinking it's cheering people up and making the whole debt thing a bit less worrying. You're all stars, and I will sacrifice the next bailiff that darkens my door in honour of you all.....This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Pobby - you'd be surprised. You can tell the closest knitting blokes - they sidle in pretending to have been sent in by the missus, but you can catch them out by handing them the wrong size needles for the yarn and see if they notice, or asking what thickness they need. Someone who says 'DK' is usually a knitter, 'Double Knit' has been told by missus, and has carefully commited the phrase to memory to avoid being locked in the cellar by aforementioned missus for getting it wrong.
Apparently Russell Crowe knits, but I reckon he just likes having something he can take an eye out with handy. This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!
