Oooh, you cheeky lot. Honestly. I'm not locking lips with Mr Wonderful ev ery minute of the day you know - I have a bathrom break every 5 hours.
Well chicks, I hope you're all being good, not spending a penny and eating out of flowerpots to save on washing up water.
My day started out cr*p. Child's eye infection is causing the poor little creature's eyes to weld shut and she wakes int he night panicking because she can't see. Off to docs this morning, and got her some eye drops. She was a right handful all day but...
Around lunchtime a lady popped into the shop,. She's been in before and has always been very keen on buying the shop, as she just missed out when I bought it. She happened to see it on Ebay, and has come in to get all the details. Basically she's got the cash sitting in the bank (alright for some) and is very keen to get going. Tonight I'm having to get my accounts together in some sort of understandable order, and then beg & plead & threaten with an axe my old pooter to please please please work and spit out the last years accounts. Basically if she's happy witht he figures then I could have a sale quick as next week!!!!!!
Yay me!!! Victory Dance!!!!!
So that's me sorted. One very keen, very loaded (and very nice) lady to buy my shop, debts sorted (just in time, it's really starting to get hairy) and a new start in Grimsby. Decided to go the internet selling route - less cash up front, less overheads and a bit more flexible. Plus if I ever have to deal with a horrible old woman reeking of cat wee and fish suppers again I will go spare. And by spare I mean descend into a homicidal rage and slaughter anyone over the age of 60.
So wish me luck chickies, it's a big gamble cos I'm asking a lot for the place, but hey, that's the price I want, and I've priced it to allow for a bit of haggling.
I'm hoping you're all fine and dandy and behaving yourselves - the monkeys will be watching. And McBirnie knows all about that, don't you Lawman? You naughty boy. The monkeys say that the thing you do with the cat and the box of paperclips is wrong. So very wrong on every level.
Tip for today - when selling on ebay try to ensure your auction covers the weekend, and preferably ends Sunday night around 7pmish. That way people have had the weekend to browse and spot your item, and will be at home and finished tea to up the chance of a last minute bidding war. This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Hi all,
Just a flying visit, things are absolutely MAD here. Ok, newsflash from Obi world in 3, 2, 1 ----
1) Loopy southerner has yet to pay any money, but now has accounts, copy of lease, relevant running costs, sample of my blood........ so I expect to hear on Monday. Good news, started the stocktake and it looks like I seriously underestimated the amount of stock I had........
2) Satans Jockstrap has phoned, told me he's now going to step back as I have a new man in my life. About bl**dy time. The selling of his stuff continues.
3) Business is picking up, and moneywise we seem to be doing just fine. Barclays has terminated my business account thanks to me asking for my charges back, and so it's all going through my personal. So no more paying through the nose to use my business account. Think they shot themselves in te foot there.
4) LB is fine, DD is extra fine, both got coughs but otherwise we're all dandy. Starting to get sorted out for the move, I shall let you all know how it goes
I am sorry I've not been on more, but I'm just having a hard time fitting my life into the regular Earth day. I promise to be a good MSE'er and post more often, and to worship at the sock-n-sandalled feet of the Moneysaving One more regularly. Unless of course it creeps him out.
Thinking of you all, hope you're all being good.

Oberon,
I know I've not posted before but i've been reading your thread from the start and I'm filled with admiration you. I hope that the sale of the business goes smoothly and that it solves all you debt problems. We've been debt free since April and it's the best feeling.
Whoops just noticed I did post before several days ago, but it wasn't really about the thread so it doesn't really count.0 -
Hi Obi! Just checking in and glad there seems to be some good progress with selling the shop. Hope it all goes through smoothly for you and can't wait to hear that the shop is sold and you're off to start your new life in Grimsby! Glad the family are all doing well too, hope they recover from their coughs quickly. Take care and good luck, Love Snaggles xx"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Afternoon all, got DD down for a nap, so taking the opportunity to catch up.
Sale of business continues. I've dropped the price to this woman, and now she's p*ssing around witht he stock. Told her I will have all the stock at the shop tomorrow for inspection, we will then go upstairs and mae sure the lease will be transfered. I will then expect a firm offer or shop gets taken off the market. I have a month to move atm before having to shell out another months rent, and she's had more info then I was given to startwith. I've now had enough of her mucking about, and have told her this. I got quite shirty at one point (unlike me, I know!!) and basically told her I've bent over backwards for her, and now it's time to stump up the cash. I'm in limbo at the mo, can't get organised for the move, or look for a new house or anything. She's stillmad keen, and I suppose she's just trying to make sure she's not chucking her money down the drain, but it's very irritating for me.
I hope you're all being good gurgles & boils, missed me?? ;-) I've been so mad busy at the end of the day I just crash. LB has moved in properly, so the house is packed to the rafters with stuff. Told him he WILL take a sunday off and we're going to Hemswell to do a giant carboot sale - we are NOT moving with the stuff. I'd ebay, but naughty me hasn't paid her £111 fees (slappy slappy) and so have caught myself a little suspension. Will sort that tomorrow so I can sell some more stuff. Still got Ex Freakshow's toys to catalogue and get rid off, and just more rnadom stuff.
Moneywise things are still tight, having to juggle buying stock with paying the bills, but somehow I find the money, so I'm feeling pretty good. LB makes me very happy, and I know he'#s proud of me. He's great with DD, she's a right daddu's girl now.
Well, I must crack on, hope you're all fine and dandy, and love and millions of pounds to you all.
Love Obi
PS Tip for the day - If your family has a bad habit of leaving the lights on, or the TV on standby rather than switching off, have a piggy and 'fine' them 10p everytime they offend. This will either a) make them supergood at switching off or b) help towards the higher electric bill! This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Excellent thread. Have read previously but just thought would post to say well done and keep going. Have been meaning to put stuff on ebay for about a year and never got round to it - gonna do it tomorrow - if you can do it with a child, a shop and a new partner Im sure I can!
Good luck with the sale of the shop!
