Well gurgles and boils, sad news. Sale of the shop has fallen through, seems the daft southerner was a time waster. Told her how much I'd take, no I would not split the stock, all or nothing. She still comes up with the most pathetic offer imaginable. Her offer was nothing short of laughable, and in it she didn;t even want the fixtures and fittings. Um.....ok....

Still, now I'm back with a vengance, getting my moneymaking head on and getting out there to kick some a**. Ok, I'll have a cup of tea and a whine, then plod on like a mule in bad weather. But in my mind I'm leaping about athletically in PVC with a stomach you could crack coconuts on. So days are spent building a website, serving nasty old ladies and generally cursing southern women with less brains than a small fruitfly, and night are spent...pretty much the same, only without the old ladies.

I'm hoping all my friends are here to let me have a whinge at them all, if of course you've not all got all debt free & b*ggered off to the bahamas.

Moneywise, it's all tight, but not worth losing sleep over. Then I'll just be in debt and short tempered. I feel a new, colourful, very spanky spreadsheet coming on. It all looks so easy on paper..............

    Love Obi xx

Tip for today - smile. Even if you're mardy and don;t feel like it. The physical act of smiling seems to cheer me up a bit, even when behind it I'm mentally gunning down the entire shopping centre. Must be something to do with the mind saying 'You're smiling, therefore you must be happy'. Strange, but it works.

PPS Mad Southerner has come back on the phone upping her offer. Not by enough, but it's a start.
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Hahahaha, your posts DO make me giggle, I was wondering how things were going - sorry about the sale of the shop falling through, but it sounds like Mad Southerner does really want it if she's come back with another offer, so hopefully she will offer the price you want.

I liked todays tip - I'm smiling through my very sore sun-allergy rash and my morning sickness lol!

    PS Bahamas - I wish!

No, Beelzebub's Haemarroid Applicator is staying quiet, thank the gods, him kicking up a fuss is the last thing I need. DD & LB are both dandy - snaggle - ginger biscuits help. Read your good news, well done!

Mad Southerner's offer is only slightly less pathetic - wants to pay goodwill firsat, if no outstanding rent, rates etc. Well, there is, and I can't see hwat that has to do with her?! The debt won;t be passed onto her. Told her I'm taking it off the market.

practise mad southern things? She doesn't want all the stock, just the wool, no card making, calligraphy, sewing boxes - the stuff that seels in the summer when wool doesn't basically. She also wants anything over a year old at half the trade price. Um, I don;t think so. Want to sell, don;t have to. Think she reckons by pushing me she'll get a good deal. She's pushed too hard, and I'm not selling - to her anyways.

  • Sounds like she wants to turn the shop into an emporium for soft southern pursuits - like macrame and quince jam making. Doesn't she understand the dead 'ard nature of your lil' ole ladies? She'll go bust in a month!

Oberon - stand your ground! You can do better!

Oh. Thought she'd coughed up and you'd cleared off to Florida without us. Glad you haven't but wish you could if you see what I mean:confused: .

Keep smiling and keep cutting those Florida piccies.....

Hey all, hope you're all being dead tight and meaner than Simon Cowell to a tone-deaf pensioner. Good day for me today, good takings in the shop, paid off my ebay fees, so can start selling again. Saw a new company fr yarn, swiss bloke, very nice. Been reading a book about Amazon.com, and it tells you how Amazon went out there to be the biggest they could be, and I'm going to try and take that approach. I'm getting in new wools that fit with my business idea - I want my shop to be renowned for sourcing interesting, unusal yarns rather than selling the same cheap baby acrylic as everyone else. I'm planning on finding a cheap leather or leather look sofa in the small ads and having it in the shop, getting rid of anything thhat doesn't fit the new idea, and basically poshing the place up a bit. That does mean I'll have to start wearing a suit rather than scruffy jeans, and the Nightwish album will have to give up it's revered spot in the CD player, but hey, if it makes me the money I need, then call me Skirt Suit Sue.

Mentally a good day, having a real crack at all the debts again, sort of put them all on hold while the sale was going through. So budge over Dotty, and Minni, move your bum, I need to hop back up on the DFW wagon!
