OberonSH's DFW Diary Thread - 1 Woman, 1 Toddler & A Whole Lotta Debt!

Well all you lovely people, today has been a very good day. Not only have I broken the £25k debt barrier on my business debt, my loans are both hovering above th £9k mark. I overpaid my council arrears (business) yet again today, making a total of £34 overpaid in the last 2 week. Would have been a round £40 but some stupid old bat slowed me up in the bank so couldn't get the £2 coins I squirrelled away that day to the payment office.
Did something a little strange today - I taped a picture of my ideal Florida home (with pool, natch) to my till. It's to remind me that every customer that came through the door was helping me get closer to moving over and getting to pay my taxes in the sun. It really helped, and judging by the till report I must have been extra nice to some of them!
Dietwise going well, down 1.5lbs in 3 days, and congratulated myself on not buying a bottle of wine tonight (a no-no, even on the relaxed South Beach Diet) and went for 'legal' ovaltine instead. Figured I should be sleeping more anyways.
After having to choose between paying my rent or loan I was pleasantly surprised to find my landlady telling me she would be coming down Wednesday for my rent (tax credit day) and so was able to transfer the money I was holding 'in case' to the loan account. Means every ebay penny in the last month has gone on bills, not overpaying debtbut my bills are paid and now I have the 4 clear weeks to save my monthly payments for everything (does that make sense?). Plus just transfered another £50 from paypal, going to have to pay a debt with it rather than overpay, but hey, at east they're being paid.
Hope everyone's having a very cheap day. This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

You're doing great, and I agree with your way of thinking over the leftovers from your marriage! I was told that anything in my possession after the divorce was final is mine - guess that was the cooker, f/freezer & DS's then!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I have a picture of a villa in france on my PC at work for motivation, so I guess i kinda know where you are coming from. We all need ways of keeping motivated.
Have a good one,

Hi Obi
I think you are going great guns. You seem to have understood the need for feeling pleased when little milestones are reached on the way to being debt free. I think they are good for keeping motivated. Well doneI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Hellloooo out there in MSE land!
Tut tut, no uproar when it's been more than a day since my last post? Honestly, makes a girl feel really unloved!
Well chickees, a fan bl**dy tastic day at shop yet again - ooh err should I xpect a dismal weekend? Takings are sky high right now, which is excellent news, natch.
Loads of stuff sold on ebay, all money having to go on the bills, but like Tiredmum says, least they're paid. Completely off the diet atm (after losing 4 pounds in as many days, so am a bit guuted) but have so much stiuff in the house right now I need to be eating it all up. Plus I'm sick of cooking 2 different meals.
Strange request of the day - bearing i mind I'm a yarn store - do I do bra measurings? Hmm. Didn't realise the decor of the shop reminded people of the knicker dept at M&S. Must correct that ASAP. Don't want the old women getting their kits off in the middle of the shop. Ewww. Old people naked...... (hope no-one's having their dinner whilst reading this - if so I apologise. Now get a cloth and wipe that up)
Moneywise, ever so slightly over budget, but have only taken extra bus into town once this week (thus having to pay over my weekly tcket) and that's brilliant for me. Over paid Council yet again and managed to find £130 to send to supplier debt, so the end is in sight, my darlings! Must be something to do with the picture of my ideal Florida home on the till. Lesson for today? Be nice to old people. They give you lots of money.
On a downside, spoke to The Thing From The A*se End Of Hell last night, and now it seems he has a nasty little habit (and I don't mean leaving the loo seat up, or picking his nose and sticking it under the chair). Funny that - can't manage a £30 train ticket, but can manage the same amount on Class A drugs. Apparently it was only the once, and he won't be doing it again, but I bet every junkie said that once, eh lads and lasses? I'm now going for full custody, and as far as I'm concerned he's not getting anywhere near my baby ever again.
Right, I'm off to redo my budget in the vague hope if I retype it enough more money will magically appear. Hope you al had a very cheap day!
Obi xx
PS I sent a thankyou PM to The MSE God That Is Martin Lewis. Thought he might like to know he's there next to Buddah, Pan & Kali in the pantheon of Chez Sto-Hellit.This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!
