Hey all,
Escaping the chores for a bit to post. Hope you're all having a cheap week.
Worked out that by Piggying, Ipointing etc, I'll have Xmas paid for in amonth, and then after that I should be able to get enough vouchers to pay for 1 disney ticket in 2010, when we go to Florida. Not bad eh? Did a little 'I am so cheap, I am so cheap' dance. 'Who likes cheap stuf?' 'We like cheap stuff'
All in all going well - got the cold from hell, but the house is getting sorted, stuffs going onto ebay at a furious rate and the place is starting to get tidy -good thing, as once DS goes to nursery one day a week form next week 9hopefully) - that day will be spent working ont he website, no housework, nothing. Then a few weeks after that I go back to college 3 days a week to do beauty therapy, so will have even les time for cleaning and cooking. My slow cooker will be my new best freind, and my theory is that if the huse is tidy to begin with, it won;t take long to sort out at the end of the day. Not theuse of the word theory.....
So Mr Obi is stuk into his Alone in The Dark game, I'm about to crack on with my humongous list of chores, and I am just hearing a 'meep meeeeeep' from te Boy's cot (translation 'Come and get me woman, where is the Mummy-Slave? Fetch me rusks or I'll stink the house out with a 'Play-Doh' nappy......'
Tip for today - next time you're stood next to the kettle waiting to make a cuppa, clench hold and unclench your 'gluteous maximus' (your butt). Get into the habit and you'll soon see a change in the shape. Works, it really does, but results vary as to how much tea you drink. This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Evening all, hope you've all been clenching your butts.
Tday I had a confusing letter from Working Tax Credit. They seem to think I've been overpaid by £5k, and although I wrote to them and said I've never been without an award from WTC, so are you telling me I shouldn't have been entitled etc. The letter says that apparently thy never received 'an answer' to something they sent both me and He That Shall Have Painful Boils On His Groin when I called them to stop the joint claim when he moved out and so they recinded the award, hence the money owed. It's all very vague, but it states I am unable to appeal this decision. Anyone had anything similar - doesn't say if it's my stuff or his they were missing? I always send back my WTC stuff straight away, as it's so vital to us, so I'm dubious as to it being mine. Plus I do recall the award being stopped after he left, as Pauline the Wonder Pig claimed for him, and the poor WTC people got all confused, bless them (sarcasm). I was really short of cash then, so to then turn round and say I was overpaid by £5k is a right joke.
Apart from that, everything's good. Got some stuff on Ebay - hopefully that'll bring in a bit of cash, paid off my littlest debt yesterday, so I'm all happy about that. Sent an email to Rossendales (May horrible things inhabit their beds) telling them that I'm not messing about with them any more, they prove this year old debt, or they get stuffed - their choice. Surprisingly, not a peep, so presumably they've all dropped dead of shock that they now have to get off their butts and do some honest work.
I hope you're all doing well - I got 20 quids worth of vouchers through from Pigsback this week, thanks to a mate joining and a quiz win, so that's Xmas nicely wrapped up. Now I'm saving for vouchers towards our Disney tickets in 2010. I work out that at the current rate we'll be able to buy one ticket with the vouchers - a saving of £200. I saw someone's sig that they bouht a car with Tesco vouchers - that's very impressive. Whats the best thing you got with free points/vouchers?
So squeeze those pennies, squash those pounds, and stick pins in a voodoo doll of my ex. Todays tip is to switch off the TV tonight, and listen to a speaking book, or put on the radio and listen to a programme or play. It's really surprising how much more gratifying these thngs seem than having a mindless night of Telly Absorbing. Can you remember what you watched to TV last night? Or last week? robably not. Give your poor old brain a break, and hit the off switch. This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Bah to the tax credit overpayment thingy!!! I suppose one advantage of me getting minimal tax credits (about £11 a month!) means that in theory at least I shouldn't get a £5000 overpayment claim!!! (although from what I read on here, they will probably still try!!)Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. £11 a month? By my maths you owe tax credits £1,345,692.34. Payable immediately, and because you blinked during the last full moon without spinning on the spot 3 times chanting 'I love Gordon'.This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. That would be funny if it wasn't true...."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
At the moment no-one's touching my steriliser or baby carrier, but there's bids on 2 horrible resin green Buddhas. So basically sell the most weird thing you own, and bingo. You can retire to Tahiti on the proceeds of the odd sock drawer, what you ferret out from undr the sofa and whatever hubby has in his workbag. Make sure the pics are as good as you can get, and get in as much detail as you can. Height, weight, any marks and how wonderful your item is - why hasn't the reader bid already? They can't live another moment without this brilliant, once-in-a-lifetime pet rock. Go! Bid! NOW!!!!
And don't forget the obligitory 'Pay within XX days or I come round and pee in your letter box'.
I'd love to tell them to naff off, but they still haven't told me exatly what it is that they're missing. So Monday is a call to WTC to find out exactly what the sam-hill is going on up there in their little ivory tower - the place where common sense & the laws of mathematics are kept in the basement and never referred to.This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!
