T-Mobile also doing iPhone

It seems T-Mobile are now doing the iPhone as upgrades for existing customers. My wife phoned them lastnight to cancel her contract, when asked why she was cancelling she simply said 'because I want an iPhone and you don't do them'. The surprising reply was 'oh yes we do!'. The lady went on to say that they are partnering with another firm as a way of getting round the Apple contract issue. The deal is £35 a month for 1200 minutes (I think thats what she said but could be wrong on this bit), unlimited texts and internet. The phone is £79.

My wife couldn't cancel just yet but the advisor said when she can just do the same thing, ie get through to the cancellations team and say you're cancelling because you want an iPhone.

Hope this info is handy for folks.

They should be able to now they've been taken over by Orange.

This deal is through another company however, as the OP says. I've seen it posted on other sites.

Heard few months back that t-mobile were buying iphone handsets in bulk - so rather than being official suppliers via apple, they could still sell the phone for (probably) their most loyal customers.

Why would they lie like that? I was very surprised too but it doesn't make sense for them to make it up. Surely if a customer was already going to cancel theres no point lying to them, that would just make them even more likely to cancel.

Yes the advisor mentioned that they had tried it a while back, partnering with a German company. They didn't do it for long because it proved too expensive. They are now partnered with a different company (called Chitter Chatter I think).
  • Yes T-Mobile are offering existing customers who are due for upgrade the I-Phone ( Both models ) 3G 8gb & the 3GS 16Gb versions - these are on tailored price plans starting at £30pm with some cost towards the phone or from £35pm if you want the 3G 8Gb version free or from £45pm if you want the 3GS 16Gb version free. Yes they have teamed up with a third part company called Chitter Chatter ( Similar company to the likes of Carphone Warehouse & Phones 4 U ) However to get this offer you must speak to the cancellation department, calling 150 and listening to the options. So im sorry " Jamespir " but you are the one who's talking rubbish.

I think someone needs to do their homework before instantly dismissing other people in such a patronising way
