Is anyone on this board actually an existing member of this scheme and if so how are they finding it? How long did it take to receive your card, and were further credit checks required before you could start using it? I applied last night for it. With fuel prices where I live it should result in about a 2p saving.D'Oh!0

Looks good if you're in Wales though.
May I ask what area you live in?
Our local one in Pembrokeshire is 99.9 for diesel, that's the county that the LNG terminal and Refineries are in, I still can't quite understand why we pay more for it down here, when its on our doorstep?????Trying to save but.... it seems to go..... :Debt free Wannabee :beer:0 -
Is it just me or can you not access the information on the fuel card from this site? I signed up for this last week but now cannot see any information on the website about the card or what they are charging per litre this week. I am beginning to wonder what I get for my £9.99.D'Oh!0

check out my post at the top of this page, m8 (#81) - since then it now seems they've stopped anyone viewing those pages too.
It all seems decidedly dodgy to me. I did consider it for a second - but i'm glad i didn't know. They seem very unwilling for people to actually find out what they can get for their tenner.
If "yulfie" is reading this thread - perhaps he might offer some explanation as to why they are acting in such an underhand manner - surely if it's a genuine decent offer they should want everyone to see the savings, rather than hiding things.0 -
I paid for this on the 1st June , and all I have to show for it so far is the confirmation of payment e-mail.
I hope the 12 months is from when i first get to use the card as having already loast nearly 2 weeks the savings margin required is starting to get higher already .
Maybe this week eh ...

I too have heard nothing since spending my £9.99. Additionally, whenever I call the customer helpline it's a case of 'Sorry, the relevant people are out to lunch, give me your number and they will call you back', or 'Sorry, the relevant people are in a meeting at the moment, give me your number and they will call you back'. No one has called back to date.
Is it too soon to be getting worried?0 -
Hmm - Martin started this thread - isn't it time he used his clout to find out what's going on?Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

Someone finally called me back this morning - 4th time lucky!
Apparently the deals with the fuel companies for their cards have all fallen through. They objected to seeing the lower fuel prices being publicly published, and were unhappy with cards being offered to people who were not being expected to spend minimum amounts of £350 a month on fuel.
Marmalade were unhappy with this reaction, since they had already agreed with the fuel companies what they were going to do.
What they have done instead is to find an alternative card - one for diesel users, one for petrol users that you top up. I was told in particular about the diesel card since this is the one I am interested in. If you buy 100 litres of diesel at this weeks price of say 93.5p litre, you pay £93.50 and your card is 'topped up' with 100 litres that can be used at participating fuel stations. If the price of fuel changes, you still have you 100 litres intact until you use it.
I assume there is a similar scheme in mind for petrol users.
Apparently details are being posted on their website later today, and details are being forwarded to people who have subscribed.
I hope people find this useful!0 -
Thanks for that information. That is more than I have gotten out of them. I will be interested to see what they post on their website and if all the garages remain as participants. I hope there is no minimum as I tend to only commute 500 miles a week.D'Oh!0
