Unlikely, because it would cause so much environmental damage to produce that much vegetable oil. Used chip fat cannot move the nation around. ;)

The offer of 20% off the very latest Navman SatNav direct from the manufacturer was a superb deal.

None of the Internet sites (apart from the ones that 'forget' to add VAT and delivery could get close. It could even have gone out as a Money Saving Best Buy - it is certainly the cheapest price by farNick Couchman (PipelineCard)

Having seen this I have to object to these comments.

I wrote to pipeline pointing out that Navaman were offering a far better deal direct, 30% in fact, I also posted this here:

    HERE

I emailed Pipeline on 22/06/06 telling them to which they replied:

Thanks for tipping us off about this.
We will obviously have to discuss this with Navman and find out what is going on.
    With best wishes

Now, the above comments by Nick were posted before all this happened, However, the offer was still defended HERE and this was on 23/06/06.

Even if "Brian" had not passed my information to Nick and even if Nick had not seen the Navman thread (which he has contributed to) having been made aware the offer was not so good and that a better deal was available Pipeline should wasted no time in retracting email and letting everyone know of the error.

This has never happened, draw your own conclusions why they chose not to.

Well there is one card out there now for sure to save you money. Yep its the ASDA credit card. Although their APR of 19.7% is pants but if you only use it for petrol and pay it off every month then 2p off every litre is a bargain still. I always buy my petrol from Asda as they are the cheapest around my area and now will be even cheaper (i hope). I say this with worry that maybe they will raise their prices in order to cover the cost of this discount to card customers. Let's wait and see if I can even get the card.
  • Brian does pass everything on.

Ben did take it up with Navman and they explained that this was a VERY liimited upgrade offer for people that already had a current Navman unit.

It was a little embarrassing but, at the time , our 20% off deal was still the cheapest price going for the vast majority of members.

    I hope this helps

  • Just a quick update on my money back struggle.

I didn't receive any call from the manager as promised on the first day or my money back. I called a few days later and got another apology and another promise of a call from the manager and my money back. No luck. It was only on the third attempt that I finally got to speak to the manager, who did refund my money.

He said this was because they did not hold on to my credit card details and that they needed them to refund my money. While I appreciate that this may be the case, I am still a little concerned that I had to chase them. I would wonder how hard they would go to refund others who are less pushy. I am just glad to be done with this scheme.
  • I have run with Marmalade for a while now, in order to give them the benefit of the doubt, but alas it has still come to nothing.

Even though the original fuel cards were withdrawn due to average members of the public not normally spending more than £350 per month on fuel, a 'pre-pay' diesel card was introduced for the 'average' user.

After weeks of hassling and being mostly ignored, I am told that my monthly spend on diesel of approx £100 per month does not qualify me for this either.

I have now asked for a refund.

I must confess I have come away very disappointed with this.
  • Hi folks,

I've spoken to Marmalade and they have assured me there should be no problems getting a refund and most should be processed in a few days. The quickest way to get a refund is to e-mail fuel@marmaladecarclub.co.uk

However if you originally paid over the phone you will need to reconfirm your card number as they are not stored. If you are still having problems please PM me with your details and I will chase it up for you.

    Hope this helps.
