Apparently the deals with the fuel companies for their cards have all fallen through. They objected to seeing the lower fuel prices being publicly published, and were unhappy with cards being offered to people who were not being expected to spend minimum amounts of £350 a month on fuel.
Marmalade were unhappy with this reaction, since they had already agreed with the fuel companies what they were going to do.
What they have done instead is to find an alternative card - one for diesel users, one for petrol users that you top up. I was told in particular about the diesel card since this is the one I am interested in. If you buy 100 litres of diesel at this weeks price of say 93.5p litre, you pay £93.50 and your card is 'topped up' with 100 litres that can be used at participating fuel stations. If the price of fuel changes, you still have you 100 litres intact until you use it.
I assume there is a similar scheme in mind for petrol users.
Apparently details are being posted on their website later today, and details are being forwarded to people who have subscribed.
I hope people find this useful!
Still nothing on their website. Thanks for posting this info. Have tried ringing the number published on their website, can't get any answer though.0 -
New card details are up.
However unfortunately for me the garages in my locality are not participating any more so it is not suitable and I have sent an email to get my refund.
Hope it suits some of you.D'Oh!0 -

Well thankfully there's still a couple in my area, however whether it will pay for itself who knows as they aren't publishing the prices online now!
I'll have to email to see if they can tell me now.
cheers

I signed up a few weeks ago and got a call this morning telling me that another company has taken over the scheme, but with different rules. Whenever he mentioned the minimum £350 spend per month I just asked for my money back. It's a pity cause it seems like a good idea if only someone could have got it to work.0

same here, £350 min spend isnt for me, I have asked for my money back but they cant even find my credit card payment!! Even on pre pay diesel card i've seen some stations putting on a surcharge on about 2%. Hopefully Pipeline are in better negotiations with the petrol retailers thats why its taking so long0

Just phoned up and they could only offer me pre pay diesel card, which is no good for us and we would have to travel 30 miles to the nearest diesel direct petrol station.
They were happy to say that they would refund my money, so lets hope i get my money back quickly!
So i'm waiting on the pipeline card aswell.0 -
I've just had a call as well - given I've paid my money and can't have the contract they offered, anyone think I shoud sue them for loss of Bargain?
ON £200 fuel spend a month, I would expect to have saved £75 a year over the life of my car... it's a 7 year old Escort which I'd expect to be good for another 5 years yet, so that's £375 loss of bargain (based on 3p a litre discount)
What are your thought, Martin - the new offer is substantially worse than the old one I have already paid for...0 -
Surely you've paid for one year's membership, so you can't sue for 5 years'?Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

They are only obliged to put you back in the position you were in before, so if they are offering a full refund that is correct.

No, sorry. They contracted to provide me with a card allowing me to buy fuel from specific locations at a discount. They charged me a set amount for that facility. I accepted ther contract terms, and paid.
They now say that, despite having charged my card, they can't supply the facility they offered, and are offering a substantially less beneficial facility or a refund...
I am entitled to specific performance, If they cannot comply, I am entitled to both my money back, and compensation for the extra costs I will incur, the loss of bargain.0
