The Great 'Student Discounts' hunt

Martin - please help! My bank who I have been with for about 20 years, and have had my student account since 2005, have now decided halfway through my postgraduate course I am no longer eligible for this account! I am studying in Scotland for a part time PGDE (Primary teaching) and have a 0% overdraft for up to a year after graduation in 2012. I cannot afford fo them to convert my account to a regular one as I am always overdrawn. My course is considered part time, but I do 20 hours a week online study, bring up my family and during teaching placemments work in schools full time.

I just found a new great way for UK students to get discount on a greater amount of products all in one place (whilst doing a bit of facebook stalking I might add). Apparently there is a new site called myunihub.co.uk who are offering discounts on the products that students want and recommend. I read they do everything and have big names on board already (george foreman, vodafone, onepiece, russell hobbs, the list is huge) and the prices are super low. They actually have the products on their site and no stupid vouchers that don't work half the time. I'm really excited to see it go live on the 31st of August and if you sign up using your student email at the moment I think you can be in for a chance to win an iPad 2. I'd say this is going to revolutionise student discount and is exactly what this thread is about?

Pretty sure New Look and Topshop/ Topman have discounts of 10%... seem to remember that superdrug also have a student discount

Dorothy Perkins offer 10% even on Sale items, so it'll well worth it. Nando's also do 10% off if you're a student for the NHS so nursing, physio & social workers.

Sometimes Topshop has a 20% off deal, its only on for a short period often during the time student loans are being paid out.

Hi, ive just booked halls of residence down in London. shopped around and found that some great deals were on offer, I got a free annual Oyster card for zones 1 and 2. Normally costs almost £800. Plus the place Im staying is amazing. Definitely worth a look. Company name is called Mansion Student
