Quite dull and cold here, washing hanging round indoors again.

DD2's friend died on Friday. He was only 24, went to the doctor and never came home again, blood clot on the lung. Can't believe it.

oh how awful...what a shock for you and for his family and friends.
Thinking of you and sending heartfelt condolences.

    Morning all

Hugs to all of those remembering somebody today. After visiting my Great Uncles Grave in France in the summer it feels different this year no more sad I think it is just that we did a lot of thinking and remembering back then.

Polly - I am so sorry to hear of DS2's friend, what a shock for his family.

How sad that we have had our third death of the week.

DH at the football runs so I'm getting DS2 to help a bit here.

Plan for the day - finish the list!

Next week my focus will be planning for December.

Valli - well done for making a decision, get that mail done before you change your mind.

Greenbee - how's your weather been?
The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair
  • Dear Lord, how awful,pollybear.

Have put sofas back together and if I could work out how to get photos on computer, I would show you. Worked out 15 quid per sofa, and they look almost as new.

sexymouse I absolutely promise to shut up about it after this, but when I last mentored an NQT (2 years ago) we did no more than one observation per half term, and in fact there is a limit, I believe, to the number of observations you can be subjected to. You know who to ask...
Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x

    Morning all

I was going to post last night, but we had to be out for 7pm for DH's bowles presentation night (which then didn't start until 8), followed by a 60th birthday do, where I met lots of people I hadn't seen for ages. I loved catching up. We ended up in our local, listening to some great (and some awful) performances on the karaoke. Late night (early morning, really), but I managed to keep count of the drinks and I'm not too bad this morning. I even strained the chicken stock out of the SC and started the DW when I got in.

    Flying yesterday:
bathroom floor, mirror, loo, sink and bath
tidied the kitchen (about 3 times, I think)
    made chicken stock
    made sweet potato soup
    DW
    WMx2
Also had a bath and visited a friend, bathed DS2 and sorted breakfasts, lunches and teas.

Quite a short list, but it felt like more when I was doing it, honest! :o

Today I had hoped that DH would be in charge 10-12, so I can do some school work, but he's gone to the Remembrance Day event in town. I can't argue with that, especially since he used to be in the army. Now, if it was me, I'd offer to help for a couple of hours in the afternoon, but a man needs his routine...

    I will:
    tidy the kitchen again
    empty DW
    do more washing
make chicken soup with the stock
declutter the living room floor and hoover
    put clothes away
buy a housewarming present for a friend (she just split up from her husband and moved into a house with her three sons yesterday - her eldest is friends with DS1) and take it round if I can get the address
    do something fun with DS2
see if anyone has a samsung mobile phone charger, so I can charge my phone (mine's in school)
    make breakfasts, lunches and teas

I think that's it, but there's probably stuff I've forgotten.

I'm so sorry for everyone who's having a rough time and wish for the strength to help you cope, and people to be by your side when you need them.

Hope you all have a good day.

A tip learnt from Triker ;)

    washed bathroom floor
    cleaned bath
    scrubbed loo
    polished mirror
    cleaned sink
    cleared kitchen surfaces
    wiped kitchen surfaces
    cleared kitchen table
    wiped kitchen table
    cleaned out sink
    cleaned kitchen floor
put stuff in SC for chicken stock
    made sweet potato soup
    filled DW
    filled WM
    decanted chicken stock
    emptied DW
    emptied WM
    re-filled WM
    dried washing
    emptied WM
put away first lot of washing
    dried 2nd lot of washing...

etc.... Get the picture? You did do a lot, you just need to make sure that you list it in a way that reflects the effort you put in.

Off to check out now (it's 6am here). See you all later...
