I have been following her mos column (and this thread) for a while. I do feel a bit sorry for her, even though she is self obssessed. Her family and friends dont seem very supportive.

That's the same family she has frequently made unpleasant comments about in her columns isn't it? She claimed that they sponge off her and when she spends lots of money on them they are just not thankful enough. Apparently when she buys things they only say thank you, and she wants more than that.

I also recall her column laughing at them at a wedding (I think it was a wedding) where she wore designer and they wore High street clothes and no one acknowledged how much better she was than them.

Hmm, wonder why they are not more supportive....

This is the stuff that I am now thinking is faked.....to get readers wired up and then reading more...more readers, less chance of being laid off from MoS.
I have just got this feeling about it as no-one could be that insensitive....unless it was the only thing she could write about that week and she has a really bad shopping addiction to fund.
The shopping addiction may have just been transferred onto the animal rescue cause now though and seems even more expensive.

She has mentioned some mental health issues and whilst I would like to think this is all made up just so she can look like an interesting person I do have this worry at the back of my mind that she is ill. I waver between getting very angry at her self obsession and plain malice at us ordinary women, and the thought that maybe someone close to her should be seeking some urgent medical attention for her.

    Indecisive, that's my middle name

Hmmm. I think I know a lot of people...mainly but not exclusively women.....who live on the line of ''sanity'', or with one foot each side of the line. I think ''mental health'' is....less clear though, than my line analogy ......I think I know a few ''Liz-types''.

Interesting, thanks ninky. That's the best I've seen her look too.

She looks like she's got good poise for Strictly. I wish her luck.

I thought bipolar... they can be up their own 4rse, spending way too much as evidence they're worth it, then thrown into the depths of despair.

Update......she's planning a downsize. The alternative way to wipe out debt and have a clean slate.
This weeks diary mentions the mortgage arrears again.

I woke up this morning and the sun was streaming in my windows. Susie had her paws over her face; she has given up waiting for me to install curtains. I switched my phone on. Already, there were six missed calls. I recognise the numbers now: which one is Santander, which one NatWest, which one American Express. You can tell so much about someone’s life from their phone. The other day, on the train, I was sitting next to quite an ordinary, mousy young woman. I couldn’t help but see the personal message on her screen: ‘How is my beautiful Leftie? [It was right after the general election.] How does St Tropez sound?’ I want her life!

I didn’t tell you this but the other day, a hand-delivered letter had been placed in my battered, bullet-ridden postbox. It was from a woman who had been employed by Halifax to deal with people who cannot pay their mortgage.

She’d called to see me but I had, thank God, been out. I wish I hadn’t opened this letter, had merely put it in a pile with all the others, but the handwritten envelope had tricked me. I fed the 17 cats, and called her. I told her I don’t have the money at the moment.

She said new rules mean that anyone who gets as behind as I have has to be given counselling. I agreed to meet her in the Costa Coffee shop by the motorway.

As I drove home through the New Forest, I wended my way through acres and acres of trees, past ponies and donkeys. There was a sign for Romney, and I was reminded of a childhood book I’d really loved: the Punchbowl Farm series by Monica Edwards. I realised I’m not trapped on Exmoor. I could move to the New Forest: it’s only a couple of hours from London. I can never betray my animals – they’ve given me the only real love I’ve ever known – but I could live somewhere smaller, more manageable.

I am now wondering if the farm on Exmoor is already up for sale?
Maybe I will try and find it.....was it 46 acres?

I had a nose on RM and couldn't see anything at all...
