The flattery on this board is not good for one's ego.:o Overinflated by people's kindness here I felt inspired to show some stuff to someone I know and was brought very roundly down to earth:rotfl:

Yeah but yeah but :rotfl:....it depends on your target market...give them some LJ to read and see what they say...I'll bet it doesn't pass either.

Now a nice column in a middleish england Sunday colour supplement would suit your writing fine........I never apologise for reading Mail on Sunday as You mag has the bestest recipes (and lovely pictures to inspire) and pretty good horoscopes so you know how the following week is going to pan out. :o

Tell you what, anyone knows anyone at the You or similar who wants me to deliver xxx number of words weekly, I'll do it. I'll even make sure there are no spellings and typos.:eek: Carolt will edit for me, because she's my biggest fan :D:o

good timing now too. But tbh, not many people are as interested as me on whether Alison the chick is a girl or a boy :rotfl:

I do have sympathy for her in a way. OK she has been daft but how many other daft people have we got? I know some who for one reason or another that at the time seemed OK and then it all goes horribly wrong. Circumstances change.

I see a lot of it happening at the moment. Very depressing. We have had 10 years of madness imho not the least in hpi. Even Brown seemed to think that we would just keep growing. Cheap lending, low irs, not something that in the last 50 years has the UK experienced and changed peoples attitudes.

Now in truth things have changed and from people I know the change has been in some cases frightening. I know too many businesses that are seriously struggling. I have seen a number of " big " players in my field go under. I have friends who have worked very hard gone under and some on the knife edge.

Folk like me that had done quite well are having it tough, lots of them. Also, when younger, I lived up to that income but getting badly burned after the last recession I did hold back.

I know this isn`t Liz Jones position but think about folk I know. Some had sunk everything into a business to see it wiped out. Some struggling with debt they used to expand ( and employ ) now with tougher banking and way less demand are trying to seek a way out.

When Ms. Jones talked about suicide it makes me very sad. In my life I have known a few.
Doh...I quoted Pobby's thread then forgot what I was going to say about it.
I agree with the above as we all make errors or things are going great so you live according to your means (the great means) then something tips you out and it can all unravel pretty quickly.

One of the rental viewings this week (yes, it is on my mind :rotfl:) was a lady and her 2 daughters who lost her construction business after 20 years last year....big guys didn't pay so she was done in.
She sold her house to keep paying for school fees for her eldest, went into rented and sunk the rest of the money into a doer upper with a partner.
They are now trying to sell it (and just reduced it from 425 to 375.
She was a bit younger than me and was startiing all over again.....the OH had gone too.

..including a 3k fridge..she says she has no fridge.
From her November 2009 classic trolling article she said she lived without a fridge for two years but then bought a £3000 Falcon as she was too good to go to Comet, despite already being in severe financial difficulties and owing £150k on loans and credit cards.

A good, solid, English name, Alison. Of course.... we're all dying to know lir! :D

BTW, I'm using the snail gel and good it is too. Promises that 'Gathering the slime does not damage the snails' - even better news. :rotfl:

:rotfl::rotfl: I might try the common garden variety. Snails probably will be harmed :o:o.

''dying to know'' is a difficult phrase in this context too :(:o. I wish I could convince the boys to get along:(

And it might not have exactly the same effect!

Y'know, despite what some are saying, I don't think the jar is exactly full of slime. It contains 'extract' which is not to say they scrape it off their bottoms. :rotfl: :rotfl:

FC, your link has been keeping my insomnia company. But this post is too funny not to share, true or not...
I heard that she was once caught in a shop changing room with her nipples coloured in different colours with felt tip pens

What on earth? I doubt its true as I now know, from the link, she has ''thing'' about her bosom so changing room flashing probably ain't going to happen....but its so funny a rumour o have written about one.

I'm just reading this thread as I thought I was the only one who had this 'car crash' type urge to read her latest nonsense.

I was quite put out last week on her You magazine article about people sending her money, if that was genuine then some people have really gone without to send her their last few pounds. She should be ashamed of herself.

I used to enjoy her ramblings, but when she attacked these fat (ie size 10 and above) women who took low paid jobs so they could spend time at home with their nasty feral brats (ie normal children) I got really upset. The thought that she could feed her cats/ fur babies (shudder) premium branded prawns whilst bemoaning the fact that some women had no drive and despite being fat and fecund still managed to get a (whisper it carefully) a husband I just saw what a nasty self centred woman she was.

So she is now alledgedly completely broke, nearly had to spend the night on the street in London a few months ago and yet can go to an expensive ski resort to recover from some stress, oh please. I read some of the threads on the debt free boards on here and see stories of real people with real debts who are actually trying to sort themselves out. Those people require my sympathies, not some over paid journalist who won't buy second hand as it is 'common'.

This is actually a brilliant idea! Let's e-mail Liz and persuade her to post on the DFW board :D
