I was thinking more abou this (surprise) and was thinking how insensitive it would be in her ''bankruptcy'' is not really close to that, but rather having to cut back hard and come to terms with debt. When you look at some of the tales of bankruptcy (or very narrow avoidance of that) occasionally read (including one avoided by one of my favourite MSEers when lease issues were stinking!) to bany the word like a fake pearl necklace would be very unattractive.
See, that kind of ugliness is why I shouldn't think about it, because that almost feels like I'm wishing she really is close to bankruptcy, which I'm not, I just think ....she needs to think.0 -
Despite myself I'm starting to feel very sorry for her and I really, really don't want to. It's patently obvious that the poor woman is unwell. It's like car-crash TV except it's at a snail's pace0

I know what you mean.....hope she isn't bandying about a word just to sound dramatic, or to flag up her article.
Technically,, is she 'bankrupt ' though?? Are her assets worth less than her debts?. Purch would know how much the farm would sell for now on open market.
when she sold the London house it must have had a huge amount of equity left in it?.
I still sniff a new book coming out on debt, overspending and the search for 'happiness' ...and the proceeds wipe out the debts.0 -

But I can't feel sorry for her, she's based her whole life on values completely opposite to the way I think.
Now those values are biting her on the bum, hard cheese.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

No! Surely that is far too cynical!!!;):DIt's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Which will then probably vie for space on the best seller list with similar tomes from Kerry Katona and Anthea Turner. YukPlease stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Viva there is hope!
Apparently Hodder & Stoughton (who are |I believe one of the bigger publishers of such tripe) have announced they are to significantly reduce publication of such books! Hurrah!
I think I may have put that on the borders into admin thread, which I need to put an update on later today...It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Perhaps that alone is enough to warrant sympathy.0 -
I came in search of happiness and I have found loneliness and humiliation and bankruptcy.
Not when she comes up with soundbite rubbish like that quoted above.
Oh woe is me, listen to my life & tales of hardship!
F*** off. Go & listen to morrisey albums elsewhere, & spout your hypocritical drivel to other people. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
