I went down the 'big ben' route, even went on the virtual tour of the clock tower, but couldn't see anything that tied in to the '723' bit of the clue around there or Parliament Square. Stuck. Fed up! 0 0

Keep trying, I think I have an answer...might not be the right one, but an answer it's nothing to do with Big Ben, but London is good it's nothing to do with Big Ben, but London is good Thanks to all for the guesses, a few of them really helped. John Alexander MacDonald in particular. 0 Thanks to all for the guesses, a few of them really helped. John Alexander MacDonald in particular. 0

Am at St Pauls Cathedral. John A Macdonald has a memorial tablet there. http://www.nndb.com/people/581/000092305/0

I think the Robert Peel route is the right one. I found a reference to 'Wishart St Andrews Church Trawent Bury Lancs.
There is a tower built for Robert Peel at Holcombe Hill.
I did find a photo of the church when I looked before and the time on the clock was 723 but I am a bit lost from there on.If at first you don't succeed try, try, try again.

I reached the final solution (I hope) by 'Big brother' and 'You might need a hand'... to mean, I'm sure, related to Sir John A MacDonald being a free mason.
After looking all this up (I do need to get a life) I was led to a building in UK. When I googled some of the clue words and my solution words together, they were highlighted on every single link.0

Dearsmore, thank you for trying to guide us but a lot of us are still at a loss to find the answer. are you not going to share your the answer that you have come up with. We usually help each other on all the comps sharing answers unless a specific site requests us not to. It does not put us at a disadvantage because every comp is shared and the answers that you do not know on another comp will be shared with you in the same way.0

I'm more than happy to share the solution I came up with, I wouldn't have reached it if it wasn't for the help of everyone and the OP. I have tried to help, yes because I didn't want to spoil it for anyone who wanted to try and get it for themselves.
The Masonic Temple aMacdonald was a Freemason, initiated in 1844 at St. John’s Lodge No. 5 in Kingston. In 1868, he was named by the United Grand Lodge of England as its Grand Representative near the Grand Lodge of Canada (in Ontario) and the rank of Past Grand Senior Warden conferred upon him. He continued to represent the Grand Lodge of England until his death in 1891. His commission, together with his apron and earmuffs, are in the Masonic Temple at Kingston, along with his regalia as Past Grand Senior Warden. Among the books in his library was a very rare copy of the first Masonic book published in Canada, A History of Freemasonry in Nova Scotia (1786).[60][61]t King ston, along with his regalia as Past Grand Senior Warden. Basically the solution IMO is Grand Lodge. Google: United Grand Lodge 723 old windows.0
