Congrats to polka, (I was thinking about you the other day funnily enough!) and hello to SSL.
sleepytiger - i meant to reply the other day. I had a similar thing with DH. One minute he was saying he wasn't sure if he wanted children, then he'd say 'when we have kids...'. I had to tell him it wasn't fair in the end. We weren't ttc then but were planning to start soon.We had a massive blow out a few weeks ago when we'd spent a long, wet Sunday with some whiney kids followed by a nightmare journey home which took over twice as long as it should have. We had a row and he blurted out 'I don't want kids'. I was devastated, didn't sleep, I thought we might have to split up (we still weren't ttc but were planning to start jan). Thankfully I was off work on the Mon, I couldn't have gone in. We talked on the phone a bit that day and then he came home in the evening and said he'd had a long think and that he was just scared he wouldn't be a good enough dad, scared he was too selfish etc etc. He said, 'let's just get on with it, I need to stop thinking so much' so we did. I kept checking he was ok with it at first and that he really wanted to ttc, but he does. I'm not sure if it helps. I feel like we've been to hell and come back, it was the worst time in our married life, I felt so alone.
We are now ttc and i obviously don't expect anything this month, i have pcos so am fully prepared for it to take a good while. do pm me if you'd like to chat more, it sounds very similar. My DH is in many ways not an easy man, though I love him dearly.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
just popping in from other board, I thought that it takes men 3 months to produce the sperm so whatever sperm is been used now would have been produced 3 months ago (someone correct me if I am wrong though)
Congratulations Polkadot & Penny:T:T:T
Polkadot, I know when you get pg, you want to tell everybody, but have to wait at least 12 weeks which is just too hard. Thank goodness for forums:D
I had mc at 10 weeks (found out at 11 weeks), so never got to tell anyone:o
MV when you say you had a second look, how long after the test did you go back? It could have been an evaporation line. Was it a thin line or fat one?0 -
hi all sorry to crash your thread
i hope i can give u alittle bit of hope and notice the achol question so my story is relivant.
i was trying to conieve for my son for 5 years we had 2 m/c while ttc for him and there was no explanation my hubby also used to drink quite heavierly (having my son changed this) and also he wasn't sure he wanted another all the way though (we have a dd to who we conieved first time) so was going though it alone bascially (hes glad we have him now he love him to bits) and this time 2 years ago i had vowed to give up after another year of ttc and in jan 2008 we got our bfp and it was a sticky one.
i know this time of year can be hard and i know i don't know any of u but i just wanted to say i really hope u all get the bfp u desperatly want this xmas cause i remember how hard ttc is but its well worth it believe me never give up girls
i hope u don't mine me posting this0 -
tinkerbellsmum do you think your 2 m/c was caused by your OH's drinking?0

Morning ladies..happy 21st December...I love Christmas, I'm just like a big kid!!
Quaver - I did the test, waited about 3 mins and looked at the stick, couldnt really see anything (my eyesight is shocking without my specs though), took the stick through to OH, said 'oh well looks like a no then', he looked at it and said 'hang on there's def a line there'..I looked again (this time properly), and there was indeed a very faint line.
I'd say it was about 5-6 mins after me actually taking the stick out of the urine that he saw the line.
The instructions say read after 3 mins, so I guess there is a chance it may be nothing. Would an evaporation line come up that quickly?
I have to admit I did fish the stick out of the bin a few times after that, but it hadn't changed at all...still the same faint line.
I guess I should test again today with another early preg test. AF due in around 4 days.Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
