Thanks Som - sorry to keep bothering you! We're gonna pop up to Bambino Direct later today & see if they've got a bigger range than our local Mothercare as we're so stumped. We basically want something small, that a car seat can clip into, will last hopefully til the baby is out of pushchairs (i.e. not having to buy a cheaper stroller later), something that folds down small, something with a very adjustable height as we're both over 5'9 and my mum & MIL don't even quite reach 5 foot, and preferably that looks cool as we're superficial like that :D I guess the Bugaboo fits these requirements which is why we loved it in the first place, but OH seems to have gone off it yet has no idea what else we might get!

On an exciting note, I've sprouted an actual bump, that can be seen when I have clothes on!!! At just about 23 weeks, I was beginning to think it might never happen :) Still not big enough for anyone who doesn't know me to notice but tres exciting for me :D

Gym - the only other PC that I can think you might like and would be alot cheaper but still really fantastic quality is the one that I, and I know Always have. Its the Maclaren XLR, its lightweight and compact ( altho longer than the bee its narrower), and will last thru till bubs is out of PCs. Me and OH are 5'8 and 5'9 and its fits us fine, tho at 5ft think your mil and mum would struggle with most PCs. The whole bundle including car seat ,adapters and carry cot comes to £460 but thats full price use quidco or discounts and it'll be way cheaper still. There are other alternatives but I don't rate the quality.

Oh and yeay for Bump :D do we get a pic hehe.

Cakes sound good Kindofagilr - except I'm trying to be a bit better with my eating at the moment unfortunately. I realised the other day that I've put on a stone and I'm not 17 weeks yet (and I wasn't small to start with). I'm not doing anything silly like dieting, but I am trying really hard to be a bit more sensible with what I eat - the problem is that what I fancy is junk food!

I know I should be careful really I have gained 2 stone and I am 23 weeks

  • Hey all,
First a massive congratulations to the new arrivals I`ve missed!!!

Life in the world of Fishcake officially sucks. For those that remember I applied for JSA after loosing my job, well I got the letter through and I can't claim it, so I applied for income based JSA and now my ex boss is telling then I left voluntarily so I can't claim that either. So I now have to survive 8 weeks until my MA kicks in on £75 a week. So we are cancelling our virgin media package and thus our internet. I still come online at his shop but I wont be about to much untill things improve. Try not to forget me though eh? I will be back. LOl

FR - sorry to hear you're having such a tough time! Surely you can take your employer to a tribunal/small claims if they are unlawfully claiming you left voluntarily? And appeal the JSA decision, too. Sounds like they are truly awful people that deserve to pay you back EVERY penny plus damages!!! Good luck in the future...

    :hello:to the new ladies!!

GISI- Really hope todays the day

Gymfiend- Yay for bump, I have had the opposite problem all the way through and am met with raised eyebrows and 'are you sure there is only one in there' when I tell people how far along I am. At 28 weeks my mat jeans are now 'snug', but just around the bump. Apparently though I don't look pregnant from behind, which I guess means I haven't put on weight anywhere else.

Am gonna do a piccy tonight to post if no one minds giving me an honest opinion?

Um, can't remember who asked, but yes it is fan assisted, had another go this morning and it looks good, might have a bit this afternoon with a cup of tea. Also made some 'coffee kisses' out of my bero cookbook- it's great but ancient and all the recipes are dead easy. Will try shortbread tomorro i think.

Fishcake- that sucks, have you got anything from them in writing? Like a letter to confirm it was there decision? If not could you ask for a copy of your personnel file as stuff like that should be on there. Might help, but I would definately look into it.

Seem to have even more blotches this morning:eek::eek:- does anyone else blow blood vessels when they are sick? I'm not the vainest of people but honestly look like I have been in an accidnet or have some horrible disease!

out for Thai food tonight, can't wait.

Chilled, happy weekend vibes/ Labour vibes to everyone:j

the Nct sale was definitely bumps and babies at dawn, quite good though and will definitely be scouting out another one once we know what we are having as there were loads of lovely clothes.

Barking, you have allllllll my sympathies - it's quite rare, and so many people don't get that it is different to normal Morning Sickness. I've been really lucky to have a nice GP which makes such a difference. At the moment I'm on cyclizine and metoclopramide, 3*daily for both which seems to be helping me feel almost normal. It did take a fair while though. In the meantime, I pretty much forgot about anything resembling healthy eating and ate whatever i fancied as I found that if I was actually craving something, it tended to stay down (chips and curry sauce anyone!!) I've also found the most random things settle my stomach - at the moment it's diet irn bru and fizzy/chewy sweets. Not sure my dentist would approve, but I've even ended up eating some when I take my pills at 5.30am as it seems to help not waking up with a totally empty tummy.

Hi girls, just posted my birth story at last!!
love my little man he is amazing :j
  • I know I should be careful really I have gained 2 stone and I am 23 weeks

I'm quite worried about weight - I put on over 6 stone last time I was pregnant (I ate rubbish), and I swore that this time would be different. But I've felt really lousy with the morning sickness and started to do the same again. It wouldn't be so bad, but I wasn't exactly small to begin with.
Finally the morning sickness seems to have stopped (it's been a week!), and I know that I need to eat more healthily, so I'm trying to make a real effort and snack on fruit rather than sweets and cakes.
But I love sweets and cakes, so it hurts......

  • Nikkit, was it the Tales of Despereaux (sp?)? I took DD to see that and she loved it. I love the kids club that our cinema does - works out at £2.50 for me and my daughter. I took her to see Ice Age 3 on it last week - fantastic, not sure which of us enjoyed it most!
Yummm, thai food - see, I'm obsessed with food, I can't seem to help it!
Fishcake, I'm really sorry that you're having a rubbish time - we'll definitely miss you.
Helen - congrats on posting your story, I'll have a nosy in a minute.
