Ooo it seems like ages till I have my 20 week scan and I'm looking forward to finding out what I'm having though I feel 100% positive that it's a girl I'm carrying. Not sure why, but I have no doubt in my mind for some reason.

:wave:Hi everyone Im a long time lurker but never been brave enough to post.
I am 25 weeks pregnant with my first baby and due a baby girl on 3rd May. I have to Step sons aged 16 & 12.

So far I have had a relatively easy pregnancy but a very stressful life:( my dear dad died in November from Pancreatic Cancer and on New Years Eve we found out my mum has 3 brain tumours and lung cancer so Im lucky that I havent had a hard pregnancy.

I am currently signed off work with stress (I wonder why!) although in fairness I am just looking after my mum and you guys on here have been my sanity when I get a break.

Please can someone add me to the list as I am going to make a conscious effort to join in now. ;)Thanks

Welcome and Congrats!!
Sorry to hear about your dad and your mum, sounds like your having a really rough time of it, i can understand why your signed off with stress! Is it just you looking after your mum or do you have any brothers/sisters helping you out? (hope that dosn't come across as being really nosy i don't mean it to be just hoping your not having to deal with all the strain on your own ) Glad your pregnancy is going well, have you thought of any names yet?

I don't know how to update the list but i'm sure someone will be along to do it for you shortly xx

Hi and thanks for the welcome.
I do have a brother who is in complete denial and burying his head in the sand (in other words doing nothing!) and my sister has 2 young kids and lives 200 miles away so can only come down once a fortnight so the majority of it does fall to me.
In a weird way though I like it like that as it means I can make sure she is getting the care she needs and deserved but on the other it means I deal with all the rubbish parts too like the horrendous mood swings due to the steroids.

It is all very raw with my mum at the mo and I just cant get my head round it

babygirl - welcome - you're due the day after me, I'm having a little boy due may 2nd, my first also. What a terrible time you've had, and how incredibly sad that you're dad didnt get to meet your little girl. Did he know you were pregnant before you lost him? It sounds like you're being a real rock for your mum though.

Hi Gill

Yes dad knew I found out I was pregnant by sneaking off to do a test in the hospital. It wasnt planned and we think I got pregnant whilst taking Tamiflu for suspected swine flu. I was on the pill and so not trying.

I am a great believer that the baby is a gift from my dad and that she was put there to help us all cope:(:)

My OH was shocked to say the least as we had not planned it and he thought his baby days were over:rotfl:he is really chuffed now that he is getting his princess!
