Has anyone used Lactolose? Was given it by Dr after my stressful few days with being completely blocked up but haven't used it yet as luckily things got moving after I ate a million apricots. But for next time I was wondering how long it takes to kick in and does it make things move quite....suddenly shall we say or does it work much more naturally? :D
I had this prescribed by Doc, took about 3 / 4 days to kick in, I have found ginger beer much more effective! HTH

Anyway i've never known anyone to lose an appeal, so try not to worry too much, there will be people appealing from both sides so hopefully it'll be s traightforward swapover of a few kids from each school.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but depending on the reasons why a place was not allocated at a particular school, it is usually very difficult to win an appeal for a Reception class place - I know, I went through the hell of an appeal last year. Am already waking up in cold sweats at the thought of having to go through it again five years time  PM me if you need further info although I have tried to block most of it from my mind

Can i ask if anyone is planning a home birth? I really want one and am just doing my research atm...

I'm planning one I was going to have one with my last one all was going well until my waters broke and there was old maconium in them so i had to go in to hospital. Thank fully i have everything i need this time round im just a little worried that with my history they will try and say no again i had to argue tooth and nail for my last one until i got a really laid back consultant at my last check up and he said go for it. From the small experience i had of being at home it was so much more relaxing i only started to struggle when i was rushed in and started panicking as i really didnt want to be there. thank fully everything went well bubs was born naturally and i was allowed home same day. I am just praying everything goes smoothly this time i so want my final pregnancy to a happy peacefull and relaxing experience. :-)

Hi, i'm also wanting to have a home birth but really started looking into it yet. I had a bad time in hospital with my first born so hoping this time round will be a better experience. I personally think i'd be more relaxed at home as i hate hospitals and i'm sure that me being in hopsital last time contributed to it being a bad time. Would be interested to hear what you find from your research tho :)
Started Slimming World 5/7/11 Weight loss so far 1 stone 11lbs :T

    :D
  • Thanks Bonty, I have to say I'm not too hopeful about an appeal. I think the reason we haven't got in is almost certainly because the schools are over-subscribed, and I don't think an appeal will change that - our problems aren't really the council's problem if you see what I mean.
;) Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky' ;)

    Hello! :D

Redstar- Your parcel has been officially posted :D

My MW called me this morning for my 34wk appointment and said that she can come today at 4pm but closer to the 5pm mark, so me and OH made plans to go out this evening after and i text her to say my doorbell is broken and to give me a call so i can let her in and she said that she'll be round at 6:30pm, so no where near 5pm! I had to cancel and re arrange for Monday now, when i'll actually be 34+1 lol.

I cant wait to use my TENS (when i buy it) i have the worst back pain ever and i think the tens would help it :) Only 3 weeks!:D

Me. My midwife is pro but will have to see what the consultant thinks at the 34 week growth scan I'm having in Feb. Midwifes words when I saw her last were 'stick to your guns and don't be bullied' LOL!

    http://www.homebirth.org.uk/

    http://www.thegoodbirth.co.uk/

the above two sites are really good if you want to look into home births. The second one is obviously centred around water births It is the company i got my pool from and i can highly recommend them they were excellent when i used them :-)

I have to second the dont get bullied quote. If they want they will come up with every excuse in the book as to why you cant have your baby at home. The top web site will give you infomation to fire back at them should this be the case.
