Nikkit - thats eek! about your hospital.

Kindof - when I went back to labour ward last night for my injection I was asking head MW about the birth pool and she said it goes thru phases of use, but atm is hardly getting used. She said she doesnt know why, but looks good for me. She gave be the jab in what they call a home from home room and that was real nice so if I cant get a water birth will go for that as it had an adjoining bath room with a bath, and a sofa and TV :D OH and OH loved the rocking chair they had in there too hehe.

OH called and I asked about going to Morrisons later he said ok as long as he is back for footie, typical bloke. Am now showered and dressed, tried on the mat cardi and I dont like it so will take that back and get refund, might buy some sleep bras instead as what am using atm is uncomfy and am sure arent helpiwith the lasck of sleep.

  • Hi ladies!

38 weeks today :j:D Saw midwife yesterday and babe is 2/5ths engaged. We looked at my very short, idealistic birth plan - as natural as possible (until I start screaming for the drugs :p), natural 3rd stage (unless recommended otherwise) and skin-to-skin and bf ASAP - here's hoping it's that simples ;)

Oi nikkit - no queue jumping ;)

    Happy belated birthday EA

Sure there was more to say but my brain is empty :o Hope everyone is well today :D

Is that skin to skin lark where as soon as baby is born it`s plopped onto your belly?
I had that with my first born and thought it was absolutely disgusting,it actually made me physically sick.So with my second I requested that baby was wrapped up first before given to me and I was fine with that..

Ah thats cool, I hope my birthing pool is like that so I get a decent chance getting in it lol and I'd love a single bedroom as well! that would be awesome! I know you can put the curtain around the bed for privacy but I can imagine me and beany finally getting some sleep just for 3 other babies to start crying lol

The normal delivery rooms seemed nice as well, they were all en suite with a bath (so at least could use that a bit I guess) and they looked to have gym balls etc

No rocking chair though lol OH is jealous of your OH lol

I heart - your birth plan sounds cool, so far all I have in my head is I am not going to say no to pain relief before I get there if that makes sense, I will see how I fair, I would like a natural delivery but if it gets too much for me I will take pain killers, I am not bothered about natural 3rd stage, I want skin to skin and I want to BF ASAP

Hazzie - well all the stuff I have read and see the baby is quickly wiped down before being put on your belly/chest, I guess its not for everyone lol, I wont know until I've had babybean

yay for being on Team Find-Out-on-the-Day! LOL...it's wonderful, it really is. I'm so glad we waited as it really was the best surprise ever to not find out 'til the very moment. Not that I'm dissing people who find out early - it's a personal decision of course! (like you SJ, I had a gut feeling Finn was a boy though I never voiced it outloud)

I kinda wish I'd not mentioned to anyone now!!! DH has told a few people and I've told a few people and now everyone knows we think it's a boy. I'll prob feel quite silly if it does turn out to be a girl!! :o

Aww Nikkit, hope you are ok. You make sure OH is looking after you and make sure you ring MW if you need to. Better to make the call and be told everything's fine, stay home, than not ring and need to!!

Right, I'm off to find something to eat!!

    Wow quiet afternoon!

Nikkit - hun take care not the best idea throwing yourself down the stairs! Hope the bum and other pains ease soon. Did you call mw?

Kindof - all the actual labour rooms are singles at our hospital, tho there is a 4 bed room for those ladies in the very early stages or being induced/waiting for c sec and recovery. Once baby is here and your settled you get moved to another ward were there are 4/6/8 beds to a room, there are singles but I believe they have an extra charge for those.

IHF - sounds like a good birth paln to me :D

Hazzie - like kindof I like the idea of skin to skin, but I know its a personal choice, are you normally squeemish with blood etc?

Just got back from Morrisons, didnt stick to our budget as planned but did get more meals than planned so I suppose its not too bad. Few good bits in there baby event but wasnt looking for anything, tho did get the stairgate we were after :D

Oh and popped into work and got the pink superman baby grow hehe.

Really tired again now, might go for a lie down after dinner no way am watching footie!

Do I need to have a full bladder for my 20 week scan tomorrow??

Yes definitely. I didnt bother drinking too much and had to go back for a second scan because little man had his head in my pelvis and wouldn't let them look at it! If my bladder had been full he would've been higher, also if they do have any problems looking at anything then emptying your bladder will opten make baby change position. Having 2 scans sounds nice but it was very stressful having to wait to make sure that everything was ok
