  • Gill that's funny. Complete pg brain moment. I had one earlier, someone on the radio started talking about plastic surgery, and the first thing I thought of was some kind of surgery performed with plastic instruments! D'oh. I'm normally quite bright, honestly, but this baby is feeding off my brain!!!

    evening all

tooth got a bit better through the day but now its back to hurting, just in time for me to go to bed, it makes sleeping so uncomfortable, well more so than it is normally....

God knows why but ive suddenly (today) come over all paranoid about the baby. I know Ive had two scans already and he was fine, and im feeling him move, but ive just got this really eerie feeling and i hate it..... might just be down to seeing the m/w yesterday and it all becoming a lot more real now that the NHS have finally decided to pay attention.....
That and today just had a total breakdown about money..... just dont know how we're going to cope...

Is that skin to skin lark where as soon as baby is born it`s plopped onto your belly?
I had that with my first born and thought it was absolutely disgusting,it actually made me physically sick.So with my second I requested that baby was wrapped up first before given to me and I was fine with that..

As far as I'm aware they'll give babe a clean up first if that's what you ask for. The main point is once you've got that skin to skin contact is to keep it that way for at least 45minutes to get the benefit. So you can ask them to do all the things they need to do first ie clean up, weight, checks etc so they don't interupt your skin to skin time. It's important to me to have it in my birth plan as have told OH that if anything goes wrong he'll have to step in and shove the baby girl up his t-shirt :rotfl:

Welcome yummymummy :D I was never actually sick, just felt nauseous when I was tired and/or hungry (which was most of the time :o) and found that eating through it was the only thing that made me feel better. Perhaps I could've chosen something more sensible than biscuits but hey ho :rotfl:

    Good luck tomorrow yorky :D

    Morning a question -

Is it normal to feel afraid of having the scan???? We are booked in for a private early scan on Sunday when we are away in Cambridge I will be 9 w 2 days. I am so scared that they will do the scan & there will be nothing there. :o

I am still not having any S/S at all and it is such an odd feeling :(

    Wow quiet again today!!

I am waiting in (again) for the midwife to do the home visit. She was supposed to come last week but never showed up so I rang her the next day and she said she'd come this morning. Well it's now 12 so she's late. I really hope she turns up today though. Have health visitor coming at 2pm so would rather get mw over and done with before she arrives as don't want either to be rushed cos other one is here.

Meeting pg friend and her (new mummy) friend on Friday for lunch and getting birth pool off new mummy friend. So exciting!! Then we really do have everything!!!
