Just wanted to quickly add - Laminate in bedrooms...there is NO WAY I would have laminate in kids bedrooms, for many reasons....

1 - the noise (any dropped toy even a little piece of lego sounds like a brick has been chucked at the floor)
2 - the room feels colder
3 - it is uncomfortable for the kids to play in, as they obviously spend more time on the floor than anywhere else
    and 4 - THE NOISE!!!!!!!!!!!

We were in a house with laminate throughout so I know all this from experience. and as for spills, well I don't allow food drinks (except water) upstairs mainly because the lazy boogers never bring the plates/cups/packets back down again...and I have to hoover more often because they get crumbs everywhere...so no spills anyway.

Thanks for this, it's good to hear both sides. - they are the reasons I wasn't quite so keen. My friend's little boy has it in his bedroom and she always complains about how noisy it is.

In some ways that doesnt really apply to me though (apart from the cold bit) as we live in a 3 bedroom terrace, with only a living room and kitchen downstairs, so once we have a 2nd child we would need to seriously consider moving to a bigger house, so the little room with laminate in will only ever be a babie's room, not a child's ifykwim

Haha, well people always die so you need to keep having babies to keep up with it :D
I want to have 4 or 5, but OH wants 2 or 3 lol. Im from a big family though (oldest of 6) and he's the oldest of 3.

I might change my mind after i give birth though :p

Im reading the 5th Twilight book, its so dead at work:rolleyes:

Haha, I think of everyone near the top getting impatient to have their babies and all I feel is pity for them....I suppose it is because I only went through it March, but I am not really in any rush to get through this pregnancy...in fact I wish it was longer than 9mths long!!!!

Sorry, that has probably freaked a lot of you out...it isn't that bad really, if it was would I be on baby 4;)

I am one of 4 kids and dh is one of 2....I would actually like to have 5/6, but I think I am lucky to get to 4 before he has plucked up enough courage to state he is getting the snip:p

I know exactly where you're coming from kindof - I think I would be tempted to change my day off or ask would they mind leaving it until next weekend.

Make sure you know how much you appreciate what they're doing, are you close enough to be able to tell them that you really need a day off chilling out and that you can't settle if they're there?

Can you make up some other excuse?

edit sorry what a lame post this is, I'm not actually helping you at all lol

Yeah Boo those are the birds I mean, thanks, makes sense!

Good points about laminate Mel - planning to be out of this house before baby is 1 so I'm not gonna worry too much about noise/crumbs etc as by the time he's old enough to create those probs, we hopefully won't be here :D

Kindof - I'd go to work, only because my IL's are a PITA though :D Presumably they'll still come round and do it whilst you're at work?

Yeah :D Its called twilight 5 on the PDF file at work though haha.

And your not being ungrateful, i would hate to have people round making noise, etc, whilst i wanted to relax. Can Your OH have a word with them if you feel like you dont want to? :)

ETA: Kindof just read your reply. In that case, lock the door and pretend your out haha x

I'd go to work then Kindof if you can and just take a different day off :)

My parents have keys to our house & dad often lets himself in to do jobs for us - painting doors etc, so would be hypocritical of me to say that was unfair!!

Ooh forgot to add earlier - we're only planning on having one baby as we think this way we can give him all we want to be able to, but I must admit to thinking twice the other day when I saw a family friends two little boys, they were just gorgeous together cuddling up on the sofa :o Maybe...if we could...we'd have a second :o We were really put off when we went away with OH's family this summer and his step sisters 3 kids were a total nightmare, but have concluded they were only so hideous because they weren't ever told how to behave!

Hey all, hope everyone is OK. Have not really been about much recently and don't think I really have much chance of catching up on everyones news.

Have been feeling soooooo tired recently, you know when u r that tired u could cry? It seems to be a regular pattern tho
    Monday- tired
    Tuesday- loads of energy
    Wednesday- Normal
    Thursday- tired
    Friday- stupidly tired
    Weekend- tired- stupidly tired

I wish I had a bit more energy as I know lazing around and not doing much is going to leave me worse off in the long run, but it's just too much effort to do anything, especially after being at work all day. Is anyone else struggling? I'm only 27 weeks so wasn't expecting to be this tired so early.

I'm going to try cutting down my hours at work (I do 7.30-5.00) by an hour a day as the extra work is unpaid to see if that makes a difference. Hopefully it will.

Other than the tiredness still enjoying the pg stuff, getting some good kicks now, one has taken my breath away today! Hard to think that something that weighs 2.5 lbs can be so brutal!

Has anyone else had weird sensations a bit like the balls with brightly coloured stumpy legs sticking out that vibrate? Can't think what they are called, but checked with a dr and he said it sounded like BH!?!? Was so odd I wasn't sure if I dreamt it or not! Also feels like she is peddling rather than kicking now which is also odd, but at least she doesn't feel like she's vibrating!!

Labour vibes to everyone that needs them, hope everyone is feeling OK this weekend.

Sorry for the long whingey post, am trying to avoid doing some work on my NVQ this pm, I only have til the end of the month or I can't pass it, but am so fed up with it now, I've completely lost interest in it.
