I still think you're talented gymfiend! There's no way I could paint anything that would come out looking remotely like that.

I'm trying to motivate myself to go and clean the bathoom but havent managed to move out of my chair yet! I've told myself that I can go to the lateshop and get my tiffin ingredients (decided that that's what I want to make!) as soon as I'm done but even that isn't having the required motivational effect!

redmel - I don't think DH would let me even get to 4 - he really wants two but I'm hoping I can push him to 3! He keeps going on about how having 2 means we're not affecting the population????!! I've said that with genes as good as ours it's our responsbility to keep adding to it lol

Oooh I love this - wonder if I could make it?!

That'd be fairly easy to make, all you'd need is a bird outline and some coloured felts and ribbons. I love craft stuff (hence why my spare rooms a bomb site as we've had to put my craft room in there to make room for the nursery!) so if you wanted to give it a bash and I can be of any help just shout.

Im meant to be making a cat in the hat one but still havent got round to it, hoping now Ive finished work I'll find the time!

Think I'll give it a bash, if it turns out rubbish I can always go and buy one :D

How do you reckon they made the bird at the top rigid as if it's standing on the front? Also...any ideas how would I make it fix onto the cot frame?

Just wanted to quickly add - Laminate in bedrooms...there is NO WAY I would have laminate in kids bedrooms, for many reasons....

1 - the noise (any dropped toy even a little piece of lego sounds like a brick has been chucked at the floor)
2 - the room feels colder
3 - it is uncomfortable for the kids to play in, as they obviously spend more time on the floor than anywhere else
    and 4 - THE NOISE!!!!!!!!!!!

We were in a house with laminate throughout so I know all this from experience. and as for spills, well I don't allow food drinks (except water) upstairs mainly because the lazy boogers never bring the plates/cups/packets back down again...and I have to hoover more often because they get crumbs everywhere...so no spills anyway.

  • Gymfiend, I didnt ever do much baking either until I was on maternity leave. I am taking my time more now and it seems to be helping things come out in an edible ish state. I tried fairy cakes the other day and I found them easier than a big cake for some reason, think I am paranoid about whether things are cooked through and tend to overcook to be sure. Hence why I was loving the fridge cake this morning with no baking involved, might try a cheesecake that u dont have to bake for same reason. Hehe!! Your nursery sounds great btw, well done!! I might try and go and take a pic of ours to show you now its finished :D

Mel, I remember feeling odd once we told our family early, we had told parents but DH sister kind of got it out of us so ended up having to tell all the bros and sisters. Felt very worried as i think I was about 9 weeks at the time and I was super paranoid that something was going to happen. Was a relief in a way though not having to hide it anymore.

Boogelly, I keep going in and gazing at our nursery too, I'd love to see a pic of yours... and everyone elses :D

Well I am back from dog walk (windy miller out there!!) and lidl and ended up popping to somerfield too, got some bargain reduced bread in SF and cheap veg in lidl so thats v mse :money:. My DH doesnt like minced beef so i bought some cubed beef pieces, any ideas what would be a good receipe for me to try with that?

Was feeling a bit better when I got back so sampled some fridge cake (not bad but not that exciting tbh!!) and a packet of crisps and feeling dodgy again now, grrrrr!!

    xx

I think the blue bird and the white one are both just sewn onto the ribbon to make them look stood up, is that wher you mean  Not too sure about attaching them to the cot, Im going to hang mine from the ceiling. Maybe buy an el cheapy mobile off ebay and just re-use the gubbins from it and attach your bits to it so you have the mechanism still?

Right, Im going to asda! Otherwise it'll be roast veg and no meat for tea :D
