  • CAFCgirl yes I read that too..it said 1-2 units once or twice a week, so thats a couple of glasses of wine I guess.

I just LOVE champagne, and Christmas is one of those rare excuses to splash out! Our fridge is groaning with fizz, wine and beers at the moment too!

  • With alcohol its 1-2 units, once or twice a week. I've enjoyed the odd shandy or glass of wine all the way through (although i think probs best to limit in 1st 12 weeks).

I've stayed away from brie & camembert & blue cheese. It's been hard but its nearly over now! Looking back I probably wouldn't have been so strict with that.
I've eaten parma ham (& similar) & fairly runny eggs & rare steak throughout since 12 weeks & they've done me & bubs no harm.

Personally when i do this again, the only things i would steer clear of completely once past first few weeks are liver products like pate & the fishes you're not supposed to eat like marlin (but not likely to eat those anyway!)

    like everything always is....

    all things in moderation......

so I didnt consider cooked brie twice in 12 weeks a significant thing.... nor one fried egg in 15 weeks.......
My mum said she wasnt warned off anything when pregnant with me and my sister, and was encouraged to eat pate......

    How times change....

Have taken everyones lovely advice and am mooching on ebay for clothing bundles.... found one with 55 items for £22 inc p&p...... good or could it be done better??

Just sending some sticky bean vibes to all the newbies:D We were only saying a couple of weeks ago - its amazing the level of pain you can have during pregnancy (cramps and the like) and the beenies hang on in there:D oblivious to your sufferings:p

"If the pain is severe, if you feel very unwell and are bleeding alot or passing clots bigger than a 50p piece then thats the time to seek urgent medical attention" - is what i was repeatdedly told during early pregnancy:rolleyes:

I had 3 bouts of bleeding and terrible cramps before week 12 and here i am with 18 days to go:rotfl:

Can i send some get well vibes out too to everyone with a cold - i know how horrible it is - so hugs too.

We were on a tight budjet and we just started with the basics, somewhere to sleep with bedding, somewhere to bathe and towels etc, bottles and a steriliser, somewhere to change and reusable nappies, clothing, and a car seat. Now we've got loads:D Also try and pick a nusery theme (if your having one) which is readily available or which you can do yourself as i had to pay extra for Beatrix Potter peter rabbit stuff and it was harder to find than say whinnie the pooh for example HTH
  • This is such a strange experience - under no other circumstances would anyone be sat wishing for pain & discomfort!!!! The slightest ache or cramp & i'm praying for it to continue/come back! :D

  • I spoke to my sister earlier and she was saying that it got to a point in her pregnancy when just the smell/thought of alcohol made her want to heave..and my sister is just like me in her love of the vino!!

So I think as long as you're careful, your body will naturally tell you if it really doesnt want something...the body is a clever old machine innit!:D

Gill - I totally sympathise am 32 will be 33 a week after bubs EDD and I also work full time (40hrs) in a shop, its so hard to change when your in a routine and people rely on you for stuff. But look at me after this past week I now have to prioritise and taking it easy is no1 at the mo, tho I find it tiring/boring its for the best.

CAFC - being as organised as you are I'm sure you'll have an action plan in no time at all x

Thing is we all have to tell ourselves, and sometimes force ourselves into understanding and accepting that the world wont crumble if we take a back seat for a while.
DH and I were trying full on for 12 months and my job was so stressful and having such a negative impact on our relationship that I needed to leave, and what happens one week before my notice runs out, I got my BFP. So although its gna be hard as hell money wise, for all I know if I'd stayed there, I wouldnt have Little L at all in my life...... :A

And you're right.... although I'll probably have about 4 plans.....plans for plans :rotfl:
