Thanks all
I know its hard for everyone, money worries etc, whether working or otherwise, but I have more of an issue with uncertainty rather than the physical trying to cope, I always need to have a plan, know when things are going to be paid for and delivered, Im always 10 minutes early for everything etc etc Just a small element of my OCD I think....
Anyway have been googling for weeks trying to find that "definitive" list of what is essential...... and whats essential for me, coz they're not always the same thing LOL
Plus I dont feel like Ive found out enough about certain things, like breastfeeding and reusable nappes, and I dont have any girlie friends to ask, so you're like my surrogates(if you dont mind), plus I know its all still really early and this is something DH struggles with, atm he feels we should just be keeping an eye, on my mind, especially since ranges/options change so often these days, if we find something thats going to work for us, we should plan how to buy it, get it and then move on to the next thing so we're not just trying to buy everything on one weekend....
(god I do waffle)
Anyway so far on my list, this is what I think Im going to need:
Travel system(inc car seat, footmuff, raincover and poss parasol (due in June))Changing bag
Cot bed
Cot mattress
Linens for cot bed
Bouncer/swing
Baby Monitor
Stair gate (already have one, due to our young puppy)
Sling
baby grooming set
Cotton wool
Sponge/Flannel
Thermometer
Teething toys
And a blanket of some sort for when the footmuff is a bit much?
Have deliberate not put down anything to do with feeding/changing (aside from bag) as this is what I literally havent got the foggiest about what to do.....
And then in terms of clothes, I thought I'd just buy basic items in the hope that some lovely people in our life would buy us the nice dressy bits, coz to be honest noone ever goes AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW over a 7 packs of white sleepsuits from Primark!
7 sleepsuits
7 body suits
a cardigan (?)
3 pairs scratch mitts
7 pairs of socks
Hat
7 bibs
warm jacket
12 muslin squares
until Little L starts to develop his personal style of course......
Now my lovely mum and nan have also managed to bag me a moses basket, not necessary but its free so I think Im gonna need a stand for it since it didnt come with one.....
Now can anyone tell me what im missing, or any advice on the feeding/changing aggro in my head. Once ive got my list, my mum wants to see it so she can see if she can help/keep an eye, freecycle is much more prevelant in her area than where we are now....Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Congratulations to Andrea and Beenie.x
Sticky vibes to the newly created beans.
I will have to start posting more on here but I seem to fill my time snoozing and doing little else.I`ll be 16 weeks on Wednesday so hoping all this tiredness will disappear soon.
I have my midwife appointment on Thursday where we will be arranging for my appointment for an aminiocentisis as soon as possible hopefully.I`m classed as an old mother to be  at only 37 and 3/4! Apparently you have a higher chance of having a baby with a birth defect the older you get,so fingers crossed everything is fine.
I`m already on Tinzaparin injections twice a day until I give birth and then for 6 weeks afterwards as I have already have a pulanary embolism(sp) and had a unusal swelling in my left calf at 8 weeks. So the sides of my thighs are like pin cushions which makes sleeping difficult.
Will leave this post for the moment cos once I start I think I`m writing war and peace by the length I rabbit on for.
Labour vibes for those who want them:DDebt Free Date:10/09/2007 :j :money:0 -

keep an eye on baby bundles on ebay i got allot of stuff from it most off them for 99p for 5 plus outfits hats mitts shoes etc, soe of it brand new.
Nappies if your after washables are a mine field you need to decide what you are after/need, everything from will you wash them yourself too all in ones or wraps etc,
Breast feeding is looked at as the way to go at most hospitals but only if you agree, mum and baby need to be comfortable. Either way sterilizing is needed for pump or bottles and if you choose to express.
What have i missed??????[STRIKE]Little bump 3 on it's way[/STRIKE]:j

Congrats Beenie! I was keeping my fingers crossed you wouldn't have to be induced. I bet you are so relieved to have your beautiful baby, I hope she is doing well.
On the buying things front we haven't made a list yet of what we will need, as I refuse to do it until I've had my 12 weeks scan. But I must admit I am worried about affording it all. We won't be buying new, only the things that have to be bought new obviously. Otherwise I plan to get out to the car boots in the spring as it's amazing what lovely baby things you can get and I'm sure our families will help us out too. I know it will come together in the end though one way or another, everything normally does but it still doesn't stop me stressing about it lol.
Welcome to all the newbies, there must definitely be something in the water! Though I've heard that September is usually the busiest time for babies being born because of all the festive and new year frolics that go on ;-)
I'm 9+1 now and I had a lot of cramping when I was around 4 weeks and when my period would of been due. I had resigned myself that I was about to come on, but it didn't happen. I've had various cramps and twinges since but nothing that has stopped me from doing things so I presume it's all rather normal. After all your insides are going through quite a lot!
Positive vibes to you all x0 -

If you are looking for large items on Ebay go to distance click and select 25/50 miles from and enter your postcode that way you'll be able to see all the prams, cribs, cots in your local area, look up bootsales in the better weather as you would not believe the bargains you can get, and lots of new & nearly new stuffBusy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:0 -

Thanks hun. I was working on a say first 6 month kinda idea for the furniture etc. So even if like you say with cot bed I wont need it straight away, if we find a huge bargain/freecycle from my mums, makes sense to get it when its available then miss out and when we do come to need it, have to pay/not have a great choice :rolleyes:Travel system(inc car seat, footmuff, raincover and poss parasol (due in June))
Changing bag forgot about boots free one from 1st pregnancy, what a schmuck!

And a blanket of some sort for when the footmuff is a bit much?
Have deliberate not put down anything to do with feeding/changing (aside from bag) as this is what I literally havent got the foggiest about what to do.....

thank you all for welcoming me,
cafc it is surprising how little you do need after having 2 you soon realise that matching baths, baby boxes and baby towels are lovely but hey the baby soon baths in big bath or sink as in my case :rotfl::rotfl: baby smellies are left on the side of the bath and the nearest clean towel is the ones you use
i plan on getting lots of second hand from car boot sales ect - my mother loves a car boot sale and can get £100s worth for less than £10
thanks again for welcoming me0
