    Thanks all

I know its hard for everyone, money worries etc, whether working or otherwise, but I have more of an issue with uncertainty rather than the physical trying to cope, I always need to have a plan, know when things are going to be paid for and delivered, Im always 10 minutes early for everything etc etc Just a small element of my OCD I think....

Anyway have been googling for weeks trying to find that "definitive" list of what is essential...... and whats essential for me, coz they're not always the same thing LOL
Plus I dont feel like Ive found out enough about certain things, like breastfeeding and reusable nappes, and I dont have any girlie friends to ask, so you're like my surrogates :) (if you dont mind), plus I know its all still really early and this is something DH struggles with, atm he feels we should just be keeping an eye, on my mind, especially since ranges/options change so often these days, if we find something thats going to work for us, we should plan how to buy it, get it and then move on to the next thing so we're not just trying to buy everything on one weekend....

    (god I do waffle)

Anyway so far on my list, this is what I think Im going to need:

Travel system(inc car seat, footmuff, raincover and poss parasol (due in June))Changing bag
    Cot bed
    Cot mattress
    Linens for cot bed
    Bouncer/swing
    Baby Monitor
Stair gate (already have one, due to our young puppy)
    Sling
    baby grooming set
    Cotton wool
    Sponge/Flannel
    Thermometer
    Teething toys
And a blanket of some sort for when the footmuff is a bit much?
Have deliberate not put down anything to do with feeding/changing (aside from bag) as this is what I literally havent got the foggiest about what to do.....

And then in terms of clothes, I thought I'd just buy basic items in the hope that some lovely people in our life would buy us the nice dressy bits, coz to be honest noone ever goes AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW over a 7 packs of white sleepsuits from Primark!

    7 sleepsuits
    7 body suits
    a cardigan (?)
    3 pairs scratch mitts
    7 pairs of socks
    Hat
    7 bibs
    warm jacket
    12 muslin squares

until Little L starts to develop his personal style of course......

Now my lovely mum and nan have also managed to bag me a moses basket, not necessary but its free so I think Im gonna need a stand for it since it didnt come with one.....

Now can anyone tell me what im missing, or any advice on the feeding/changing aggro in my head. Once ive got my list, my mum wants to see it so she can see if she can help/keep an eye, freecycle is much more prevelant in her area than where we are now....

They have moses basket stands on sale on Babies R Us for £9.99 at the moment x

  • ...although OH did say there was def a line there.

AF due 25th/26th so guess I'll wait to see if that shows up and then test again.

I know you can get false BFN's, but are BFP's common too?

I tested 3 days before I was due with clear blue digital ( more expensive but better as no lines to stress over, it just says pregnant 1-2 wks, 3+ weeks or not pregnant )

I'd leave it for 2 days ( easier said than done ) and try again as your hsg levels double every 48 hours

False positives are rare, make sure you look at the test within the alloted time as stated in instructions as if you leave it a couple of hours you can get a false positive ( are you taking any medication that contains hcg ? this could also effect the reading)
Busy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:

    Morning ladies :santa2:
I'd like to very tentatively join if that's okay. I had my BFP last Sunday but I tested early. I'll be 5 weeks tomorrow. I already have a DS (nearly 12 :rotfl:) but got married to the world's most gorgeous man in October and now I'm having his baby which makes me feel like the cleverest person alive :D. Sadly I mc'd twins in July at 7 weeks so getting past then will feel like a bit of a milestone. So far though I feel okay, boobs a bit sore, a bit sick, some cramping but nothing much to worry about I don't think - feels like just enough to remind me I'm pg but not too much to scare.

I may just do quite a bit of lurking at first, it's still very early days and just because I've already had one mc doesn't mean I won't have another, sadly. But just wanted to introduce myself and say hello xx

Hello Courgette :T Good to see you on here x

    Thanks Lola:o

I think I am preg, I have read the tests in the alloted time, I guess maybe because it's still very early the line is faint. Not feeling any symptoms yet either, although did get a massive wave of tiredness wash over me last night and fell asleep on the sofa!

I'll try the Clearblue digital test over Xmas Day/Boxing Day

I had this when i found out i was pregnant the line was so faint i thought i was imagining it then i did a digital and that came up negative so i waited 48hrs and retested and got a lovely preganant 1-2 wks. I know you want to test all the time just to make sure but it really is worth waiting those extra few hrs. :-)

  • I've read back a bit more and looked at your list of things to buy not sure if it is the same everywhere but if you pop into your local sure start scheme as long as you fall under there postcode area you can claim free fitted stairgates might be worth a punt if it will save you a few quid and you wont have to nag hubby to fit them ;-) x

are you sure you can take glycerin honey & lemon, as the one i have from boots says DO NOT TAKE if pregnant or breast feeding on the bottle , i am suffering so much with this cold and cough kept OH up ll night with coughing and tossing and turnig

I have Boots own brand Glycerin, honey and lemon and it says on the bottle that it is suitable for taking in pregnancy

    *Goes to check*

Yup is def ok - it's a bit confusing tho. It has a heading saying "do not take" then underneath that it says "if you are allergic or intollerant to any of the ingredients. You can take this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding"

If yours is the one in the glass bottle with yellow label and blue lid then check it again as it would be easy to misread.

Lots of labour vibes for Aless and PP - get starjumping!

It's snowing quite heavily again here - hope it stops before I go to drs this afternoon. Does anyone know if I need to take my pregnancy notes to drs when I'm going about pregnancy related sick?
