Well it's certainly snowed here in Cambridgeshire!! Was on and off lightly yesterday. DH had to work late last night, he cycles and gets the train in but I said ring me when you get on the train and I'll come and get you in the car. So he rang me at 8.30pm and at the time there was the tiniest bit of snow on the grass so I said yeah it's not too bad so I'll get you. Well, by the time I'd got in the car the snow started to come down but I got to the station ok (my first time driving in snow). Whilst I was at the station it got heavier and heavier and the only way back home was up a hill. A van in front of us was sliding all over the place and people had to push it out of the way of the narrow road. I was busting for a wee and it took us 40 mins to do a 10 min journey. We nearly skidded off the road close to home and DH had to swap with me and drive the last bit cos I was panicking! Oh well, he's walked to the station today and I finished teaching yesterday so I'm having a stay in bed with the dog day!

TMI - Can't remember who it was that said about peeing when sneezing but I am a sufferer of these problems! I've never had particularly good control but it's defo got worse since pregnant especially when I'm being sick.

Incidently, my morning sickness has returned this week after 2 weeks off, although I do feel generally better in myself.

We have loads of snow, was going to go out for lunch but not susre driving is a good idea now. Might do some batch cooking instead, have stuff to do chilli spag bol and cottage pie (mince theme today!) for freezing.

Hope the snow doesn't cause any probs with transport for u Beenie and PP, maybe the snow will inspire babies to make an apperance now!

Wooo, I can join this thread now officially. I'm only 5 weeks pregnant (tomorrow) with my second (going to be entertaining). I've been to a midwife appointment, only to be told I should have booked an hours appointment and shouldn't have been booked in til I was 7-8 weeks along :rolleyes: There was a new receptionist so she didn't know this.

She never worked out my EDD but I have and it should be 21st August 2010.

No Snow here I hate living in devon sometimes.

neneromanova your due date is close to mine ( 18/8/10 ) & Kitkats ( 17/8/10 ). It's nice to have someone to share all the ups and downs with.
How are you feeling ?
I'm having muscle pain in my torso keeping me awake must be everything expanding
I have a 5 year old so it seems like a lifetime ago that I last went through this

I have my first midwife appointment on January 15th seems an age away but guess it will come quick after Christmas.

I am due 27th August so all use newbies are around the same time!

elasti - congrats but also big hugs for you, hon. Your post made me want to cry too - like 3 said, it's heart-wrenching leaving your little one behind in hospital but also for the best as they just want to be double-sure he's okay & safe.

Beenie - I told DH that the baby would be born on the most vile, coldest, iciest day of the year (since it's about a 20-25 min drive to hospital) - hopefully that's today!! :eek:

Welcome nene!! (hey, Devon got LOADS of snow the last time around...wasn't there that terrible thing with all the cars trapped on the motorway?)

My travelcard's out of money, I have no cash to top it up, can't drive & DH has the car anyway so I'm totally stuck here . The snow is pretty in the back garden. I feel like making cookies, but have no solid choc. Need to bake bread but can't be bothered (cookies are wayyyyyy more fun). *whinge whinge whinge*

Congrats to all the new ladies, can't believe we're into August :eek: only feels like I've been here 5 minutes!

It's so snowy here I've decided to stay inside, after picking OH up last night and very nearly planting the car into the back of a parked car/wall, I'm not risking it today. Very embarassing as loads of his colleagues were outside smoking and I was trying to park and totally lost control, awful awful awful! Poor OH had to bear the brunt of my anxiety when he got in the car, I refused to speak until I started ranting that he was an inconsiderate git for making me come out All made up now, think he knows it's just because I'm a nervous driver at the moment, pregnancy has made me incompetent :rotfl: So todays plan is to get a hot bath, then sit on my bum with films I did just watch the Amanda Holden thing on Itv Player & am now pooing myself about giving birth, can someone tell me that it's not really that painful?
