pack warm clothes and shoes with grips! It's icy and VERY foggy here today!

As for me, finally had my booking appointment today - I can't believe the amount of leaflets in the bounty pack! got a bunch of them sent off for free stuff though which is a bonus. Also wasn't expecting quite so many vials of blood to be taken either! I felt a bit like I'd been attacked by a vampire afterwards! Went well though and was fairly glad to hear that my high BMI isn't really an issue as far as the MW was concerned, apparently it's only an issue for BMI of 40+. Bit of a relief there!

hope all mummies and bumps are well

Hi just being nosey from the parent thread. Are you in Edinburgh? What hospital you booked into? If you don't mind me asking?
Fog is awful, why on earth do people drive about in silver cars with no lights on???!!!!!

I'll be at simpsons at Little France assuming all goes to plan, though apparently if an elective c section is needed I could wind up at St Johns.

god only knows why - though that said, I had to hunt for my fog lights in a car I bought during the summer!

I had both mine at St Johns and its a fab hospital, all the MW's are really nice and friendly.
Is that the new hospital at Little France? My sister was in there for an op and the care and facilites were good. TV's, Internet etc at every bed. Not that you'll have time to watch TV after giving birth lol
  • yup, that's the one at the new royal, was at the old infirmary today for booking actually, really weird going up there again being as all the old buildings are flats/offices!

I think as far as the facilities go though, do you not have to pay a fair bit for them? I'm kind of hoping not to want to use them much anyway (would far rather leg it out of the hospital as soon as I can!)

They were pricey, esp the phonecalls but you're allowed to use mobiles in hospital now so you should be OK. Think everyone wants to be out soon as! I was angling for a 6hr discharge but they kept us overnight due to meconium in the waters and babas low temp. Felt like a week tho!
    Good luck with everything x

Hello Edinburgh Ladies!! Didn't realise there were a few of us on here. I'm not sure where I'm going to give birth yet as I quite fancy staying put in my wee house. On of OH mates gave had a c section recently due to bubs being breach and ended up at St Johns, and couldn't rave about it enough.

Hello! I'm technically not Edinburgh or indeed on the preggy thread! Just popping over from parents to check on Beenie and Always as she was after some advice earlier.
St Johns was fab, both times I was there, couldn't wish for better care. Community MW was pap but she worked out of Stirling!

another one! The MW obviously gave me a home birth as being one of my options but it being my first, and living in a rented flat with paper thin walls (you can hear someone else's mobile vibrate on a hard surface!) and a light coloured carpet throughout - I decided it really wasn't worth it!

    Hi all

EA- don't worry about your dad, I'm sure he will understand you will be a bit highly strung at the moment so don't feel bad. PS- love the christmas tree its' much better then ours

Beenie- Massive peaceful, quick and easy home birth vibes for you!!

    Gill- Yay for team blue!

Esio- LOL, could just imagine your neighbours faces if you went for a HB!

Well I went back to the hospital today for a check up and all seems fine, all tests coming back ok and midwife is hopefull i will continue for another few weeks which is good, I don't really want a baby for christmas!

My boobs are still leaking loads, they look like they are crying and I made OH feel a bit weird when I showed him (how is he going to cope with a person coing out of me!?!?!). Feel knackered again today, only went out for my appt and a coffee and feel like I've done a 10 hour day!

Hope everyone else is OK, xx
