Jolene i plan to bf and i've only got 2 bottles atm! Will buy more if i need them. I've got a steriliser, breast pump, breast pads, 2 bottles with slow flow teat, breastmilk freezer bags (only cos i was given them, wouldn't have bothered buying).
I won't be buying any formula unless i can't bf, haven't got a 'just in case' tin or anything. There's a few different brands you can try but i wouldn't mix them, i'd just pick one and go with it, i used SMA with DS after bf'ing, but i think the parent thread know more about that stuff.0 -
Good luck Gill
I vote girly too!x & you've got a lovely bump for your dates - you're about as big as me at nearing 28 weeks!!
Beenie glad you've got things sorted labour wise - I bet it feels mega real now you've got the g&a arriving!!
Jolene, I have a sterilizer & whatever bottles came free with it, plus one more that we bought cos it was cute!! I was initially planning to bottle feed but now hoping to try breastfeeding. Not sure I'd buy a breast pump yet though in case I find I can't bf, figure it's something I can buy with relative ease once I know?
Facebook is pants - they did this a while ago too silently changed all the privacy settings so suddenly everyone became viewable. I only noticed because I was working on a similar project at the time so spent ages snooping on there, v annoying
CAFC I like Ethan WilliamI couldn't get OH to agree on any boy names for aaaages, though girl name was decided almost straight away, typical really as we're having a boy  He picked some horrendous names  where he thinks I pick weird ones :rotfl:We were stuck between Eliot & Grayson for ages...but think we're now decided on a different name!
Debating whether to buy this for the cot in place of a mobile? We've got an iPod dock thing for his room so can play music that way...and apparently the monitors we're being bought play music too, so don't think a mobile with music is necessary?
Babys movement has gone really weird lately, I feel like he's thudding around, more than making distinct single movements like kicks? I wonder if it's cos he has less space?
I have such a knack for going on with one rambling post a day don't I?!Will stop now & get on with jobs :j
Lots of labour vibes for Always, come on baby, your mummy would like to meet you now!Baby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j0 -

MASSIVE LABOUR VIBES FOR ALWAYS!!! :j  :T
thank you aless! although doesn't feel at all like today is the today. sweep yesterday didn't hurt at all and I've had naff all cramping or spotting or anything and my bishops score thingummy was exactly the same as it was last week, seems baby's head just isn't down enough to apply enough pressure to my cervix to kick things off. the irony is now I am being told to go off and do long walks after being told for the last 8 weeks to relax and not overdo it to keep my bp down. Have to say I was up at 2am in tears unpicking the wonky hem of the b&**(%%*&% lounge curtains as a diversion to stop me going mad and wallowing - was feeling really resentful of the whole pregnancy thing, I feel like what should be a natural process has been so medicalised and I've spent so much time back and forth to the hospital and now it looks like the birth is going to be the same, I didn't have any aspirations of a fluffy twinkly music waterbirth or anything just a natural delivery without all the medical stuff again but it seems not. I've visions now of a failed induction and c-section and spending days and days and days in hospital and everything being out of control.
Argh and enough self pity for now.Ive been thinking about maternity clothes and I cant decide whether Id be better off buying maternity clothing in my usual dress size or to get normal clothing but in bigger sizes??
yorky - I bought the same size in maternity clothes as bigger normal clothes looked like tents but actually could have got away with a size smaller, I think it depends where your weight goes on, mine is all bump so I needed things to stretch over and I seem to have lost weight elsewhere. I didn't go bonkers buying maternity clothes, just a couple of pairs of jeans and some plain tops, and used bump bands when I needed, infact yesterday I was in a long pre-preg top and normal jeans buttoned under my bump with a bump band - at 40+7!I want to try breastfeeding when baby is here but also want to express milk for hubby to feed baby, I am soo confused what equipment I need, bottles, sterliser etc? Can anyone help? And what if I can't breastfeed what do I need then? What sort of formula etc?
Jolene
Am the same as you Jolene. I bought one of http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=1500001801&productId=1500485229&langId=-1&engine=froogle&keyword=Tommee+Tippee+Closer+to+Nature+Microwave+Steam+Steriliser&_$ja=tsid:11527|cc:|prd:0986368|cat:Baby+Feeding+Products and http://www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=10751&langId=-1&productId=84610&source=froogle&cm_mmc=Froogle-_-Shopping%20Sites-_-CPC-_-Froogle both of which came with a couple of bottles, think I paid a tenner each as they were in the asda baby event which I think they do a couple of times a year, it seems a while since the last one so am sure there'll be one before your baby arrives.
beenie - pleased you have sorted out your homebirth! do you want some labour vibes now?0 -
Midwife has just been with the birth pack, so just waiting on the porter to get here with the gas and air, and then i'll have the labour vibes
Feels sad knowing i won't be pregnant for much longer. Really hoping i don't go too overdue, think baby has disengaged a bit too. No signs yet!0 -

OK girls.....I'm back and we are on TEAM BLUE!!!!!
Baby was very awkard and had head stuck in my pelvis and wouldn't move so I have to go back on Monday so they can have another look! He had the cord between his legs as well so she was only 80% sure at first till she got another look!! She said to double check the sex again then but she's put on the sheet that she's 90% sure.
Got some pics but she gave them to us for free and said we'll probably get some better ones on Monday when he's in a better positionMummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0
