Glad your tests came back ok Gemma - sounds like you really need to take it easy and relax if you can though.

We've just put our tree up and I've had lots of fun playing with my musical toys lol I have a santa that rocks in a rocking chair singing 'santa claus is coming to town' and a gorgous bear who sings 'winter wonderland'

It's mad to think that this time next year there'll be a little boy crawling about!

CAFCGirl -wow to knowing sex already and even better it was what you were hoping for, hope its still the same at 20 week scan.

gill - Woohoo for Team Blue, love the scan pics x Oh and neat lil bump :D

jha - £99 on baby girls clothing at Asda is some going, but woohoo :D

EA - that cupcake is too cute, where is it from? Oh and yeay for scan tomorrow, enjoy x

Nikkit - you are deffinatley our bargain hunting queen, love the mini mode clothes but must resist!

Beenie - am so pleased that you are happy about having a home birth an have a lovely student mw to be there with you x

Gym - I like the arch for the cot and its a nice price, but wonder how long it could be used for? Oh and my baby girls movements are changing too, feels like she is having a stretch in there and much higher too.

Confuzzled - thanks for the tip but must resist buying more bags, already have 6 oops!

Always - sorry to hear lil man still isn't here, mahoosive big large easy and soon labour vibes for you xx

Yorkgal - and anyone else needing mat clothes, Mothercare started its maternity sale yesterday, got a pack of long sleeve V neck t shirts (one black, one white) down to £4, wore one to aqua last night and tres comfortable, am thinking might get some more there such a bargain. We have loads in all sizes so would hope other stores have them too, if not there are lots of other nice bits. I'm like Always tho seem to have gained all my weight/ size on bump so have stuck to cheap/sale mat clothes instead of going for size (or 2) up.

PP - My Birthday is 11th March too, hehe. Am not fussed if baby girl goes overdue by a week as tha means she'll be my 33rd Birthday pressie :D

LL - poor you, hope the pills do the trick and you feel better soon.

Gemma - glad your appt went well :)

Well had a mental day today, was supposed to have 28week appt at 10.15 but was late due to loosing my car keys after only arriving at work an hour before. Was in such a state so my manager took me to OH's work 1/2 mile away to pick up his key and then dashed back to car where I had left my mat notes and headed to appt arriving 15 mins late eek! At appt regular MW couldnt make it as she is on nights, stand in was lovely but didnt know where anything was and had to make a few calls, also my anti D injection hadnt turned up so she had to phone hospital to see if they could fit me in grr! Didnt get much info from mw but all is ok and she took bloods etc, heard bubs HB again too :D Did managed to find out about antenal classes, we get 4 x 2hours so was happy with that, just hope OH can make them as there weds at 2pm, lucky for me all my days off so no mad dashes. Anyhoo back at work continued the hunt for keys only to find I hadn't lost them at all but my assistant manager had thought it would be amusing to hang them at the top of the xmas tree in our staff room, and then totally didnt realise thats what we were all in a panic hunting for duh! Am so getting my own back! Then had to go to the hospital this afternoon where I waited over an hour past my appointment cos apparently still waiting for injection to be delivered!!! And after all that it was a fast stab in the arm and she packed me off, I did ask shouldnt I wait to see if there is a reaction (my own MW said this is what we had to do), but she said no you'll be ok! Why the different info! So spent the next 20 min drive back to work a lil paranoid. Anyhoo am all good now, just shattered. OH made dinner while I got a shower and feel way better now, tho need to go iron :( Got works Xmas do tomorrow night :D oh and need to go list MILs dinning room table on freecycle, where will it end.

So sorry for long post x

    Hello Everyone,

How are you all? I am now 22 weeks 1 day! And have a big belly!

Been thinking about what else I need to buy for baby and am confused. I want to try breastfeeding when baby is here but also want to express milk for hubby to feed baby, I am soo confused what equipment I need, bottles, sterliser etc? Can anyone help? And what if I can't breastfeed what do I need then? What sort of formula etc?

I will most likely be back with more questions!

    Jolene

    Hi Jolene

If you pop over to the parent thread, there are a few breastfeeding experts over there, one of those will definitely be able to reassure you about breastfeeding and offer advice on expressing.

I just wanted to advise about formula....one of the better ones is Aptamil, this is the one (unofficially) recommended by midwives/health visitors. They are not allowed to recommend formulas so often do so on the hush/hush. If you google SMA reviews you will find many bad reviews about it unfortunately. Although, obviously lots of parents find it ok or it wouldn't be as popular as it is, but I really recommend Aptamil:)

    Mel x

OK girls.....I'm back and we are on TEAM BLUE!!!!!

Baby was very awkard and had head stuck in my pelvis and wouldn't move so I have to go back on Monday so they can have another look! He had the cord between his legs as well so she was only 80% sure at first till she got another look!! She said to double check the sex again then but she's put on the sheet that she's 90% sure.

Got some pics but she gave them to us for free and said we'll probably get some better ones on Monday when he's in a better position :)

    YAY Gill....

sounds like both our boys have been uncooperative.... mine just wouldnt stay still :o

lol EA i'm not gonna tell them, they'll probably sit with their ears at the wall waiting, inviting their mates over for a giggle or something. :rotfl:

Scrubbed the rug tonight which was hard work but i've been putting it off for ages, can't believe how clean it came up. Had to lie down for an hour though cos i was in loads of pain after that. :(
  • Sorry ladies, I read back but didn't make notes and can't really remember what I wanted to reply to.

Beenie hope the HB goes well for you! Glad you have all the childcare issues sorted too and will be nice having the student MW as your birth partner I'm sure.

Labour vibes for you Beenie, and Always and anyone else who wants any!!

I'm going to go through all the baby clothes tomorrow with DH and see just what we've got. With all the ebay bundles I'm not actually sure how much I've got of anything or in what sizes.
