You don't really need to be taking anything else except folic acid for the first three months and a healthy diet beyond that. That said, I'm taking vitamins plus omega 3, but that's because I don't trust myself to actually eat properly/get all my nice vitamins in through food alone! I guess if you've got a healthy, varied enough diet, you don't really need to be taking anything extra. If you do decide to take vitamins, make sure they are pregnancy specific ones as other multi-vits contain vitamin A which can be harmful.

Yeah I'm the same with my diet, I don't always eat as healthly as I could be doing. Though I'm trying to eat more veg which is a step in the right direction.
  • Morning (just!)

Charliedavis huge vibes your way, are you due to see the midwife soon re sweeps or induction?

    .

I've got an indepedent midwife to support me in my hypno home birth - so no sweeps or induction here - she's had people go up to 3 weeks over before! I will just be monitored closely. I am strongly against induction to be honest - seems to cause so many problems.

Fingers crossed these tightenings today are getting nearly painful so hopefully this means something - although this has happened before over the last few days so who knows.
  • Re: diet - I've carried on with my vitamins all the way through and even when OH and DS1 and DS2 have had nasty colds I haven't come down with it - I feel the vits must have had something to do with that :-)

Have a hug vpb23 for feeling fed up :grouphug:

Som – pelvic floor exercises are great for that front of foof pain – its bloody horrible and paracetamol dosen’t touch it unfortunatley. Also when I got baby to move from oblique to cephalic positions that pain eased greatly. Might be worth going on your hands and knees whilst you watch east enders or something also put a pillow between your knees when you sleep at night to reduce the pressure – works wonders. :D

Barksavingmad – hugs for the hyperemisis :grouphug:

    Huge hugs elasti

    Yay for your HIPG Aless:j

Princess – hope you get the midwife you want next time. Sorry to hear you are concerned about the hb / movements – hope all goes well and baby starts dancing around once you get to hosp this pm or before. Glad the cream is working for you – the 2% one is very good. :D:D

Ymakeasmile – I have severe emetaphobia – I become severely distressed when I am sick – I am prescribed anti sickness meds when not pregnant to prevent sickness because I become so upset I am inconsolable – its stupid really as I can deal with blood etc. I used travel sickness bands throughout pregnancy and have made a note of my fear of vomiting on my labour plan – just incase they wonder why I go from calm and serene to a lunatic in a few mins:rotfl:

OMG - i forgot - huge labour vibes to all in need:D
  • So I ordered some bits from asda direct last week including those bargain £3 maternity vests, well someone just called me to say that the order had been cancelled and my money refunded as they hadn't been able to deliver to the right store and if I wanted them I'd have to reorder! What a joke. Anyway, much complaining later I managed to get them to up their offer of £5 compensation to £10 and have just reordered the stuff. I really hope they can deliver to the store this time. I did consider getting it delivered to home but the charge is £4.95 which I think is very high. Really hope it gets to me as I can't be bothered doing it all again to come to home and I really want the stuff!

It's always reasurring to hear from others who have emet. I wasn't sure whether it was something I should mention to my midwife or not as I feel so daft about it, but maybe it's best if I do.
