I am off to the carvery for dinner now :-) yom yom

As for names we have chosen Alexandra Elizabeth which we both like but OH doesnt like calling a girl alex so has said he will call her lexi what ever floats his boat :-)

I know someone who just called her baby Lexi.. and OH's sister calls him Lexi too.

I was thinking of something 'alex-y' for the middle name but I'm so undecided and he hates everything I like best.. This baby will be baptised Squeak!

    Lol @ squeak

We came up with the name from his mother her middle name is Alexandra and the Elizabeth is tradition from my family we all have that middle name including my grandmother, mother, me and my DD1. I was toying with the idea of using Francesca which was the name of my sister who was killed a few years ago but it just didnt seem to fit as a middle name with the other names we had on the list and i didnt want to use it as a main name as it just feels wrong to me.

I like lexi but i always think a child should a full proper name on the birth certificate its one of my little foybles. Like i always say when she receives her nobel prize or breaks that glass ceiling for all woman kind i dont think lexi would quite fit the occasion lol :-)

Mine all have 'proper' names.. and get called everything but!

DS2 went off to nursery at 3 thinking his name was Bear!.. He is 14 and is still called Bear lol.. DD3 introduces herself as Mimi (saves people calling her Maddy which is vile!!)

We have boys first name sussed.. I don't like it much but I don't like boys names much anyway so it'll do.. I could always cry and make him change his mind once squeak arrives anyway lol.. Girls names there are so many beautiful ones.. Though I already have 5 girls!! I want Primrose.. and he said it is 'too cutesy' for a bigger girl but we could use it as a middle name.. hark at Alexander Geoffrey!!! lol... I will just dig in my heels and cry if needs must... he won't be able to say no once I have popped his sprog.. I'll get him in a moment of weakness.. MWAHAHAHAHAHA

    Baby pics are lovely... :)

Budget, hope youre not getting too worried about the blood thing, just repeating what others have said- brown blood suggests its old and could have possibly been in your womb before pregnancy, etc. XX

Is anyone still waiting for their pumpkin patch stuff? Mines not come through yet but I am aware that they have been bust due to the code. I ordered the sleeping bag- anyone else recieved theirs?

Hope everyone is enjoying this lovely weather! :D

Btw, me and DH are looking to buy our cot, pram and moses basket this week. Has anyone got any good suggestions for a pram? We already have a car seat/carrier so we would prefer not to have a travel system. Any suggestions?

Michelle.. Pumpkin Patch orders are expected back end of next week apparently.. I won't be ordering from them again!! Pram.. depends what you are looking for and will use it for.. trekking miles, rambling walks, in car out car etc... Moses basket.. if you want it for subsequent children get a wicker/wooden one.

Budget, I hope you're ok and taking it easy today. Hopefully it's just one of those one-off things that happens, but don't hesitate to go back if you feel you need to. It's what they're there for.

I know naff all about footballers, but given that half of my family is called John, and half of OH family is called David, they're 2 that are absolutely off my list if bubs is of the male persuasion!

Went carbooting this morning and got 3 little outfits for 80p. They're all shades of blue, but not obviously 'boy' if that makes sense. It's tough finding neutral stuff at those things, but I figure a newborn isn't going to be having a gender identitiy crisis on me.

Michelle as pigpen says it depends what you are going to be using it for if its an in and out the car job with the occasional long walk ive been told the baby jogger range is pretty good very easy to fold and unfold and quite hard wearing. I personally have always had hauck pushchairs and found them very good not the lightest on the market but sturdy and robust and are often alot cheaper than their counter parts.

Again this is personal choice but i cant stand moses baskets i have a carry cot far more robust and will do my new bubs as well as it did my last :-)

Pigpen i think primrose is a beautifull name turn the tears on woman and get your own way lol :-) x

I WILL NOT be telling any of you what names I've picked:p:p:p

I do have a slight problem in that DH really doesn't want the boy's name I've chosen:mad: Oh well!:rotfl:

The baby name book is really intresting. It doesn't just list names but goes into how to chose a name, why names become popular etc etc. For example it says because of the football World Cup this year names like Theo (Walcott) and Ashley (Young) will become popular. Don't worry... I haven't picked a footballers name!!;)

OH has decided on Theo for a boys name; short for Theodore. Have to admit, not to sure about Theodore, I find when I say it I put on a funny posh accent which I cant shake off lol. But just Theo, I love :). Any name I suggest OH hates, I like Maddox, Lexi, Scarlet and few others. I just dont want a really common name, but I suppose all of these are becomming common! The only one he likes I suggested is Kacey, but as his surname begins with a 'K' I think it might be too much (as my name begins with a K and doesnt go with his surname!) lol

My parents went to a big boot sale today and bought bubs some bits :D they got a cute moses basket with stand, travel cot, a play gym with music and lights and fishes!, 5 bibs, a seaside embroidered cot bumper and some matching embroidered cot sheets. All this cost them £22!! Its all immaculate, and the bibs and bedding were new :D Very pleased with such bargains!

My mum also bought a Mothercare travel system, she said its upto me if I want it, its immaculate, lovely color in suede fawn and cream, with the car seat and other bits, only prob is me and OH cudnt figure out how to have it lying flat, facing back to me. It seemed to fold down ok, but the hood seemed to leave gaps at the front which i thought would freeze bubs, I really hav no idea how to work these things, I think it might be the Trenton model, might look it up online! I did get offered a Graco last week, but I found some rips in it so left that. I just want a lie flat, facing me pram!! Why are they so hard to find... cheap!!!

Well i am now officially p'd off ive just called a company about the pushchair i wanted it has yet to be released but they are taking pre orders so i wanted to find out the price and OMG!!!!

:eek::eek: £669.00 for the two seat version for which if you have a newborn you have to have a carry cot as british standards wont pass the seat for a new born unlike in america:eek::eek::eek:

There is no way i can afford that so its back to the drawing board as the other half doesnt like the phil & ted pram as he is so tall he kicks the back seat when he is walking.

Anyone got any double buggy recomendations ???

    Hello...

I'm not bothering with a moses basket this time either...I do however have this:) Got it for ds3 as my first two never liked the moses basket and the bonus of it having a changing table section that clips on top.

Can't really recommend a pushchair as I am rubbish at choosing(especially singles!), I have bought 3 for ds3 and am on the look out for a 4th that is unisex in colour and can be used for ds3 now, then if one of us happens to nip out with just ds3, and then can be used for baby once the double is no longer needed.

Had a busy day, shopping at Cheshire Oaks and then took kids to their grandads and then stopped at the park on the way home, I am shattered, kids have had their dinner and I have pie in the oven for me and dh to have later.

Piggers, if he thinks Primrose is too cutesy, you could always point out that she can choose to be called Rose as she grows older;)
