I had one of the summer monitor things with the last bubs i used to try it before i went to sleep at night i never managed to find his heart beat with it but we used to hear lovely and clear when he moved or kicked which was nice for dad when we were at the stage he couldnt feel them. I gave it away to a woman at work, unfortunately she lost her baby at 32wks nothing to do with the monitor i might add she did everything right apparently the cord was excessivley long and the blood supply got cut off somehow it was heart breaking :-(

I havent bothered this time but i have been toying with the idea of hiring a proper one for a while i will wait and see how i feel after the next scan.

  • Wel.... i'm still at home! Contractions slowed right down this morning and i've just been pottering about the house all day. Washed and blow dried my hair, shaved legs and arm pits, painted toe nails, plucked eyebrows, triple checked the hospital bags, took stuff out and added other stuff - again!!! Washed some dishes, did two loads of laundry, tumble dried one, hung the other, watched the snow for a bit, washed my steriliser and breast pump ready to be sterilised and used!

Sitting here timing my contractions... roughly every 6-7mins for about 60-90 seconds and i can sit still through them. Have taken a couple of paracetamol and hoping that i can get a wee nap later. Sent DH to bed so he can get a sleep in case we're up all night! lol

Just scunnered with the weather - the snow is getting heavier and will make getting to hosp and back a problem. Have no intention of going till they are 3mins or at the point where i cant walk them off!

Anyway, that's me! Was hoping he/she would be born before midnight tomorrow but reckon this will go the same as the other two and be April Fool's day before the birth! :o

Thanks to everyone for the labour vibes - keep em coming! lol

Smartie - love your good news re heartbeat!!
Michelle - welcome and same for any other newbies i've missed!
MGEB - hope tomorrow goes well at the hospital, i'm the same, dont drive and getting anywhere's awful esp if not feeling good, i'd wait till morning if i was you too.
    Choccy - love the photos!!
CAFC - glad today was a bit better than last nite, hope your feeling well soon!

    take care ladies

  • LOL - i am super duper hyper now - hehe! And happier. :D giving me sweets is like giving the normal person speed :D thats prob why i don't like em in the house, haha - i feel like a junkie!:p

I forgot how blimin heavy buggies are - i am so used to DD's super light Maclaren stroller that the Quinny Buzz is like lugging a ton of bricks about  I'm playing about with em all now that i have washed and done all the bits - just trying to make sure i know how to use it and change all the bits around (wow it's complicated). Also dressing everything, cot/pram/moses basket and putting appropriate sheets and blankets in the buggy/carseat so that i am 100% ready - and it's fun :p

DD has been watching and has quite amusingly trecked up to her room and brought down her baby cot, buggy and carseat for her dollies and is happily playing in the living room - copying mum, lol! Bless her!

All the talk of dinner is making me hungry....i now really fancy baby potats...mmmmmmm!!!! - i'm too involved in baby equipment to cook....arggghhhh - ok that settles it, Alphabetti on toast for tonight only ;)

  • Ok - might sound a bit stooooopid (doh me) but i had to ask - does anyones BH make their faces really heat up (like when you go red from embarrassment)? It's driving me nuts......argghhhh.

Lol, btw reading Maureens news seemed to have kicked off my BH....again. Babies on TV keep sending my boobs into a leaky overdrive too, eurggh - sorry if TMI! :D

  • Sorry to hear about your mw appointment Jopsey! Hope the results are ok when they come back, that would be pants to miss your water birth. Hope you and baby are ok tho, guess at the end of the day we just need to do what ever we need to do for it to work out alright in the end. Best Wishes!

MGEB - sorry if my news has set you off! lol yes red face with BH! dont think you're alone in that one!

For those of you on my FB i haven't posted anything on there re my news cos it would end up in dozens of texts and calls and i really cant be bothered dealing with that right now! lol Will update there from the hosp if i dont get back on here.
