I've got a doppler - Angel Sounds one (used with baby oil). Got it from Amazon.
I love using mine, but would never use it in place of a professional. Have managed to find the heartbeat from 12 weeks quite easily.

One idiot out of thousands of women who have one and use it sensibly is hardly going to put somone off.. Why in their right mind would confuse their own heart beat with feotal heart beat they are so incredibly fast by comparison. and placental flow sounds totally different.. swishy rather than gallopy.. Maybe she ought to have paid more attention to the rest of her symptoms and used a little bit of intelligence.
Mind you, I had a MW try to convince me the placental flow was the baby's hb.. erm..no.. the baby is laid the other side of my tummy.. Oh.. so it is!! Afternoon all.....
God 4 pages to catch up on!
Labour vibes to all those who need/want them xx
Had a horrible evening yesterday, felt like period cramps but without the period, and felt like I was really fluey Had ok-ish sleep till about 5am and then was on and off. Got up at 9am as I really needed a wee but was cr&pping myself in case there was blood.....All was fine, went back to bed, DH got up and he sorted out the puppy, and then came up to ask if I wanted anything so I got a cup of tea in bed
Was going to stay in bed all day, but DH asked if his new friend could come over to play LOL Grown men! Some wii challenge on mario kart or something, so figured I should get up. Walked into town to pay in some money, and then to morrisons for some dinner stuff whilst DH is off, and stuff for me when hes back to work. Got some lovely tiger rolls and deli chicken, to have for lunch - was delish.....
Got treated to some Gaviscon tablets as well LOL so DH is in good books for being a lovely guy....
Kitkat - The tattoo itself was bodged by the guy doing it so I made him stop, and just need to get some of it corrected. Its very round, whereas it was supposed to be more linear and gothic looking iyswim. Ive got 5, and its the one I never like to show because it looks pants compared to what it should look like. So plan is to get it re-done, but need it back to original size to trace, and then work on a design, and then work begins on number 6 LOLWealth is not measured by currency0 -

Well I think we all are entiled to our own opinions, if you feel happy using one great but for me as a new mum I wouldn't be so confident in telling the difference between things so it might give me extra anxiety that I don't need rather than reassurance. I just wanted people to have all the facts before making a decision imho.Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces

Labout vibes to Maureen and Moosmummy. Hello everyone else!
Not sure who was asking about Natal Hypnotherapy CDs, but i've been listening to the Birth Preparation CD once a week. I find it very relaxing and enjoy the visualisation, and it's apparently really helpful to concentrate on relaxed breathing in labour, so it feels like good practice. To be honest, i think i'm used to being in control, so anything that helps me feel like i'm preparing for the birth makes me feel less scared about it!
Sorry to those of you feeling rubbish at the moment. I spent a few of the early months feeling rubbish, and only managed to carry on going to work because i was able to sleep in the first aid room whenever i felt rough - often for a couple of hours a day! I literally got home, fell asleep, woke up for my OH to feed/wash me then went straight to bed. I felt exhausted, but the worst thing for me was feeling sicky and woozy:(. Then at around 20+ weeks i gradually started feeling better and better, and now at 36+ weeks i barely feel pregnancy (despite the massive bump!).:T
Went to see a lovely reflexologist today who has apparently had some success with turning breech babies. I'm not sure whether to take that sort of thing seriously, but i honestly sat with my mouth open staring as my bump started wriggling every time she touched a certain 'turning' point on my left foot. She reckons there's every chance he'll turn in the next 24 hours, so fingers crossed! And if not, well i had a lovely hour long foot rub and feel more relaxed than i have in ages.
Sitting in front of the computer with a huge tub of raspberry pavlova ice cream, then off for a nap. Heaven.:p
