looks like our posts crossed! I wonder whether it's a coincidence that we both feel like this and we are exactly the same distance along. I think I taught one of the worst lessons I have ever taught today, I actually felt like either crying or walking out half way through.
I'm the strong one in our house too. I'm fed up of work, I just feel like my priorites are all wrongUpdating soon...0 -
Hi ladies,
just thought I'd delurk and say hiNot a lot going on, feel stressed with work and naughty kids (I've just realised I've got !!!!!!!g nits too - who'd be a teacher!)
Welcome to the newbies and congratulations to Nikkit.
Two weeks till scan day, I think we're pretty much decided not to find out the sex; I'm much happier with this and I think hubby, although he would like to know, likes a quiet life more:rotfl:
Can I just ask, those of you who work, when you have one of those weeks where you're just exhausted and feel you're neither use nor ornament do you just press on at work or do you call in sick? And if you do call in, what's your reason? I mean you can't just say I'm knackered and fed up can you!
I've had a pretty rough time during this pregnancy and had some times where I've really struggled with work.
I had to take 2 and a half weeks off at Christmas with stress as I just couldn't cope and was crying all the time. My boss was really supportive and actually told me she was proud of me for recognising that I needed the time off!
I've had a few days off since when I knew the week was just getting on top of me. On these days I felt physically drained and very tired and achey and generally unwell - this is pretty much what I said when I phoned in which my boss was fine with. I've not had a single day off prior to this pregnancy in the 3 years that I;ve worked with her, so she knew that if I was phoning in sick then I really needed it!
*Hugs* to MLSL - it sounds like the counselling might be beneficial to you and you should definitely go for it
ETA - I felt at my worst around the 18 - 22 week mark, very low, emotional and generally depressed. (suffered with depression in past and this is the closest I have been in 8 years) I know a few people have said the same thing since so think it must be quite common at that stage of pregnancy. I'm 35 weeks and feel pretty good now, almost wish I wasn't finishing work this week which I never thought I would say at that point lolMummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
It is hard to know what to do, I'd been feeling stressed for a while and though it was just my imagination on Wed night I was undecided about calling in sick, didn't have a reason ( no-one wants to say stress ) and I managed through Thursday , then on Thur night I woke up a 2 in a cold sweat, feeling a pain in my chest, hardly able to breath, took me 1 hour to get my breathing straight. Decided it was time to call into the docs, which I had sought help earlier, it might not have got this bad.
I work with the public but I can't imagine working with 20 / 30 kids misbehaving all day.
How do you feel, is it tiredness ? sickness ? or stressBusy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:0 -
re pronation of your feet hun...
Have you seen a chiropractor?
I suffered really badly with my right knee and therefore calves etc as all secondary issues. I saw a chiropractor, had an xray done (not always necessary) and my spine was... well bleeding awful. It bends as an S (scoliosis) which I would never have known.
Started having adjustments to straighten me out, and as a result starting bearing less weight on my right side, which eased the pain, and then we moved on to my feet, and I had innersoles fitted and theyre much improved, and my calves get less tight (well did, until i got pregnant).....
And you can see them during pregnancy......just thought I'd share....
And although its TMI, I'll share this as well, Ive got really itchy nipples!!!! They are doing my head in!!!Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Gill it is nice to hear that 18 - 22 weeks is a common low point, makes me feel like I'm not alone. I am really looking forward to enjoying this pregnancy just wish it would hurry up and become enjoyable !!!Busy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:0

Yeah, i know the babies on OBEM were really ill and quite the exception. I keep telling myself it can happen to any baby though, not just a premie, while i was in hosp one of the girls babies ended up in SCBU even though she was 38wks, baby was just 4lb and wouldn't breath on her own. Was really hard to see the girl as she didn't take it well, bless her. I hope she is ok now though. The annoying thing as well is the ward they kept putting me on was the room right next to SCBU - just double doors going in so heard alot and spoke to so many women who's babies were in there. Most were fine though, just needed a little help! But It was another reason i was getting really depressed in hosp!
MLSL - Can't advise anything for the painsorry - but for the sickness homeopathic remedies helped me loads. Nothing else helped me, but Sepia tablets done the trick in the end. I'd still be sick occasionally but i generally felt much better while taking em. And you can get them in Boots. Not sure if Sepia is the right one for your type of sickness (you'll have to do a google search for homeopathy and morning sickeness) but it really helped mine. Might be worth a try! x

CAFC I've suffered from back pain for the last 12 years just though it was general misuse. Since 10 weeks I started getting pain in right knee, both feet and right ankle, doc referred me to gait analysis, she said relaxin peaks at 10 weeks so thats why pain started when it did, due to pregnancy hormones and general gait changes during pregnancy there was no point getting fitted for insoles as I would need a new pair every few weeks, she told me to come back when the baby was 12 weeks as hormone levels should be back to normal
re nipples have you tried something to moisturise them, itching can be caused by skin stretchingBusy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:0 -

Like I'm not being good enough at anything. It's all very well saying look after yourself and put yourself first etc but it's not that easy when you've already got kids and I am paid quite a lot to be a teacher and I really don't feel the kids are getting the teaching they deserve. It's probably just that I'm very tired with it being the end of term. My main feeling is just can't be !!!!!d and I'm just so scatter brained and forgetful I must look like an absolute idiot!Updating soon...0 -

The problem is my DS had swine flu in July so the headteacher wouldn't let me in school, then I had labyrinthitus and had to have over a month off in Sept/Oct so I already feel like I've had a lot of time off. And sorry to moan some more, but being a teacher I have to set cover work which can often take an hour or more (and my head of dept has actually told me times when it;s not been good enough!) so even though I could call in, it's hard to switch off from the jobUpdating soon...0 -
I know exactly how you feel, my job has had a lot of changes recently and I had made a few minor mistakes ( which almost everyone had ) I've been doing that job for 12 years and always had above average performance review but a few weeks ago I was put on the 1st stage of disciplinery due to the mistakes I had made ( 4 or 5 honestly minor mistakes, wouldn't have been considered a problem 6 mths ago but due to changes it's a problem ). Since then I have been so stressed double and triple checking my work for fear of getting in trouble. The panic attacks have been caused by dreaming of mistakes at work, waking up feeling soo stressed, obviously it's been festering in my subconsious ) The irony of it is someone much higher in my work had made 4 mistakes which I have witnessed ( god knows how many I haven't seen, one of them was really major ) but nothing happened to them !!Busy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:0
