Oh god Gill that is awful!!!!
I cant believe how much they are mucking you about.... Im not surprised you're upset and cried, I would have....
Is there a head of your m/w team? Perhaps they'd be the person to talk to about what you're expected to do given the circumstance.
Im shocked they didnt have anything organised, given that they knew their unit would be closed....
To be honest my m/w just told me I could go if I wanted to, to ours, said to go in main entrance to hosp and aim for the something or other, and you just turn up..... could you just turn up to whichever one suits you best?Wealth is not measured by currency0 -

We did do that (turn up) with the ones at the hospital but they'd changed the time at the last minute as it was run by a different team of midwives and was a total shambles.
The one I want to go to should start on Fri but as it's Good Friday I dont just want to turn up. Esp since they're at 10am so would mean an early start!! (I'm still in dressing gown now lol)
I've calmed down a lot now so going to try and ring the central manchester midwives and see how I get on with them!
The big problem with complaining is that I'm dealing with two different sets of midwives so don't know which head I would go to lolMummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
Complain the the respective heads of both of them?
So can you call the one you want to go to that should start this friday and just ask if its on? Dont have to say much else other than that really I'd imagine....
I'd have thought they would still run it, like its any other day.....
Good luck with central manc'
If it helps, I'll make a chocolate butterfly cake just for you..... xxWealth is not measured by currency0 -
Awww I'd love it if it you made me a chocolate butterfly cake
Will you eat it for me as well?? lol That reminds me that I'm supposed to be making cornflake nests ooooh
I've phoned central manchester midwives..much nicer and put me through to the parent education department.....answerphone message lol. I've phoned the centre where the class should be held and it's definitely not on this Friday as the centre is closed so at least I know that now! They gave me the number they have for the community midwives....shock horror it's the trafford numver which closed on 1st feb!!
Going to ring back and see if central manchester can get a message to my midwife to get in touch with me
ETA they've taken my name and number and as soon as someone from central midwives gets in they'll phone me! Ah well at least she was nice lolMummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
YAY! Thats better...
I'd just turn up next week...
And since you asked so nicely. I'd love to eat the cake that was made in your nameright after my cheese sandwich xx

Hi everyone, we're back from feeding the ducks in the park in the rain!
CAFC - I'm not surprised you got upset with that message - flaming cheek! How dare she? I feel really angry on your behalf. There's something about pregnancy that seems to make people feel that they can say anything personal they want to you, and don't get me started on Facebook...!
Gill, sounds like a real headache dealing with those midwives etc.Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky'

Hi all,
Hope your well. Why are mother in laws sooo evil??
OH's mum came over yest for lunch, well she spent all day going on at me, because i dont wana use re-useable nappies, apparently using disposables means I am lazy?! The cheeky cow!! I just said to her its just not for me, I know people who do it but I just didn't fancy having to do it wen I return to work (she hasnt worked in over 30 years and just sponges off her sons) also OH wants to use disposable. She also went on about me wanting a moses basket, moaned about any item I said I wanted to buy. In the end I just gave up and said I hadn't decided anymore yet as I have got until August!!
Now I can see why I am abit wary about marrying into this family!!! That was another point she made, apparently we HAVE to get married otherwise the baby will have no future security and the baby HAS to be christened. So now I have decided that the baby isn't getting christened! :rotfl:and if a wedding happens, she is NOT invited!
Does anyone know anything about parents immunisations? OH mum keeps going on as he never had any of his, and I am missing some of mine, that we could catch things through changing the nappy?! Any ideas? As I am soo confused!0 -
Cafc she sounds like a jealous b**ch to me glad you have got rid. bumps are very personal things and no two are comparable :-)
Gill glad you got somewhere with manchester hope they sort it out for you :-)
Kitkat ive never heard of someone catching something through a nappy change and the only immunisation the midwives ever mention to me was the rubella one incase you come into contact with chicken pox i think she may be talking out of her rear end.:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
CAFC: Sorry just catching up, cant believe how insensitive some people can be, they seem to forget how self concious ladies become when pregnant. I feel like making a tshirt that says 'f*** off' right where my bump is as I am so sick of people talking to me through it! Some people reckon I look like I am not pregnant and others think I look big for 20 weeks, either way I dont care as long as bubs is healthy.
I really like your tattoo, it looks good with your bump!0 -
