    Congrats Gym :)

CAFC try not to let it worry you, people are so rude!! And I think we're at a particularly sensitive stage now - still a long way to go but getting fed up with it all!!

Hope everyone is ok, have been lurking again recently rather than posting :)

ARGH wrote a massive reply and lost it!!!!
I did think maybe i was being a sensitiv flower but DH read it when he got in and went mad.

    Basics of it are
    1. im too small for my weeks and i should be worried
    2. contact my m/w and demand to be seen immediately
    3. given that we lost our first, i should be "more conscious and aware of these things if you want to avoid losing another"
    4. just look like ive had a big lunch, and am i sure im pregnant
    5. she's disappointed for me that its not a girl because apparently I'll "struggle with a boy"

Sorry I didnt reply last night, I was just too :eek::( over it, so had hugs with the puppy till DH got home....
But thanks to everyone for caring, and now I've got more facebook friends to replace her with :A

Tempted to email her and tell her what I think of that message, and I had to stop DH from doing that last night. Hardly slept for being paranoid about size, everything she's written etc, till eventually I settled on the fact that she's noone, knows nothing, and is nothing to me..... and then I fell asleep, but Im mad she interrupted my night....

So deep breath.....:D "smile and carry on" xx

OMG that's awful! I thought someone must have made some flippant comment about your size but that is a horrible message to send! How do you know this person????? I think you should remove them straight from your facebook so they can't contact you again!

Your bump looks a similar size to mine at the same point - I measure small at 31 weeks (week and a half behind) which the MW said was fine and no concern at all, then 'spot on' at 34 weeks. (she didnt give me measurements!)

Everyone's bumps are so different depending on whether you've had kids before (which we obviously haven't so still have nice strong stomach muscles :)) how the baby is lying and how your body is carrying and coping.

As long as you're feeling well and getting plenty of movements from bubs (which I know you have been) then DON'T WORRY and ignore that malicious piece of sh*t! If there's a problem your midwife will soon let you know. I agree that it sounds like she is incredibly jealous!

CAFC - what a complete moo!!! That is def not you being sensitive in the slightest!! I can't see pics as I'm at work, but will have a look when I get in and add you :)

I'm sure you're MW knows a lot better than her where you should be, and like others have said, everyone carries dif.
  • CAFC what a nightmare, who does she think she is a midwife?? I think that is the prob with fb, some people can have their opinions but don't care how it may be taken. I post rarely now for these reasons.

Speaking of bumps I want a proper one, I'm 15 wks and feel fat not pg!

Well done gym, sorry you had a nightmare but glad you have Guy now :j:j

    Labours vibes to maureen.

I am tired as have bad insominia for last few nights, thankfully not back at work till Weds and then a long weekend, thankfully and may not make it in next week as train strike planned!

Oh no just made a total show of myself crying on the phone to the community midwives!

I'm trying to attend some parentcraft/antenatal classes and am so fed up with getting messed about.

Basically the maternity unit at my hospital has closed and we've been split between 2 different hospitals. The problem that I have is that the midwives providing my care are from St Mary's, but my nearest hospital is Wythenshawe so I am going there.

I went to antenatal classes at Trafford General (my hospital) which were run by st mary's midwives and an absolute shambles, main problem being that they had changed the time to 18.30 from 19.15 the week before without telling anyone, and they were hugely over subscribed (40 couples!)

I rang the community midwives number that I was given (wythenshawe) where the lady was very helpful, submitted a complaint for me and said she would get in touch about classes in Wythenshawe...I didn't hear anything back!

Saw my midwife a week and a half ago. She actively encouraged me to attend classes on a Friday morning in the local area and said she would let me know when they start...again I have heard nothing. According to my leaflet the first one should be friday but obviously it's a bank holiday so I don't just want to turn up.

I have phoned the wythenshawe community midwives number again to be told that I can't attend that class as it's run by the wrong midwives. I explained that I had been encouraged to attend by my midwife and she said that this was totally wrong and they shouldnt be telling me that I could go. I explained that it is nearest to where I lived then she changed to I can go but it's nothing to do with them and I have to contact the Central Manchester Community midwives. She was really rude when I asked how I do this and said she could only give me the main switchboard number.

So now I need to ring this other number, try and find the community midwives and then try and get hold of someone who can tell me about classes.....what's the betting I get told I can't go?!

I'm tempted to make an appointment to see the midwife on weds (the only day they come) and talk to her personally about it then. I want to complain to someone but all the numbers that I have are for Trafford, where the department has closed!

Sorry for the rant but I needed to get it off my chest! I don't know why I am so upset, but I think I'm just really frustrated by it all and the fact that nooone seems to know what's going on, and that despite knowing that all this was changing they have done nothing to make sure that we are getting the correct advice, or have the correct telephone numbers to ring

quattro tour???? all i know is its ziggy the zebra LOL

DH has taken it out of the box... which had the name on and got rid of the box and I've got such a preggo brain, he's in charge of remembering things like that :rotfl:

As for the person, oh she's well and truly deleted.... I mean I love Facebook, without it I wouldnt have D in my life, and therefore little L, but I just know she wouldnt have said it to my face, text message, voicemail, open air on facebook.... so why does she think its acceptable on a private message...

Thankfully she's just someone I went to school with, but we were quite close at school, and sent emails to each other to keep in touch when we went our seperate ways etc. She's had 2 kids already, isnt with the father anymore, and has a lot of drama in her life.... but still there is NO need...

Last time I saw m/w, she said I looked big, but yet i measured spot on, and she said maybe its just because ive got a small frame (size 8, 5ft2).... DH thinks I look big, people on here think I look neat, other people on fb think I look big/small/just fat LOL..... I guess the things is, its all relative.....

Anyway its all done with now, the hag can rot as far as Im concerned now...

Just put some chocolate butterfly cakes in to cook, and now I need to research some dog training for ours..... I dont think hes going to take well to baby noise somehow.... :p

Oh well got m/w on thursday so I'll find out then I guess
