    Afternoon all

OK so ventured into town with DH after yesterday us having a conversation about how I dont feel he's very involved, like he just leaves me to work out all the things we're gonna need, where to get them from etc.

So today we've been out and got sudocream (large pot and a small for the change bag), maternity pads (thought Id start buying up now) some steriliser tablets, we've got a steriliser which can be microwave or cold water, but if its cold water need solution, set of 4 TT CTN bottles which go with the manual pump ive got, and the avent phillips bath and room thermometer.....
Got double boots points on what was eligible, £5 off for spending over £20, and then had £3 smething on a gift card, so all together it cost us £25..... not bad considering the thermometer on its own was £15! Oh and disposable nappy bags :)

Sorted out next midwife appt for next thurs as well which will be my 30 week appt, so bloods apparently.... eurgh....

    hello to everyone whos joined.
cant believe how organised everyone else seems to be!
Ive got my 20 week scan tomorrow and so scared something will have gone wrong. think its cos ive been feeling yucky a lot of the time.
However do seem to have entered a really grumpy stage wher i feel like everything is such hard work and tiny wee things will set me off. dont know how husb can stand living with me at moment, think hes just wishing next 20 weeks will fly by.

    Hi all,

Hope you're all well. I'm feeling slightly yuck after eating too many cupcakes! Had a coffee and cake morning thingy at work today for my leaving presentation which was lovely, but scary having to give a goodbye speech. It's just hit me that I really will be leaving work tomorrow, probably for at least 9 months, and I have totally mixed feelings about it. Mainly exhaustion, but am also a bit sad to leave my colleagues behind. I just have to keep reminding myself of all the lovely things to come!:j

Redmel - don't apologise. I know everyone's birth is different, and I also know it's unlikely to be a comfortable experience - I'll just make sure I'm as prepared as possible, then chuck the birth plan out the window! :D

1more, Choccybikkie, MGEB & Xmaslolly, and all of you with difficult families - I am absolutely full of admiration for you all:A. Despite struggling with parents/families that, for whatever reason, are unable to provide the support many of us take for granted, and who in fact often rely on you for support, you all come across as perfectly balanced individuals who are/will cope wonderfully well bringing up your own families. That is quite an achievement, and you all deserve medals! xxx

Sir Monster - I do think £300 is really expensive. I don't think I would have been prepared to pay that much, to be honest. Are there any alternative organisations that run similar courses?

Barksavingmad - Sounds like you're having a really hard time. I hope you feel better before the pregnancy is over.

Congrats Leopardlady. I remember seeing your previous posts - I'm sure you'll be fine, but I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you anyway!:)

    Byeee for now!

  • Hope you ladies are all good this afternoon!

Thanks for the comments too - she (DD) is a sweetie deffinately - Daddy has just woken up and taken her down to the beach on her roller skates to give me a half an hour break, bless - but she landed on her bum twice before leaving the front drive, lol!

Elaine - don't be scared hun, i'm sure it'll be fine. Are you going to find out the sex? I felt carp too up till about 20wks, ask any of these ladies, lol i used to come and have my daily winge at how sick/tired/worn out etc i was :D They all put up with me, hehe!

Gilly - Thank you, i see it as what doesn't break you deffinately makes you stronger ;) You have to think that way sometimes or things'll get you down. My family are carp, all of em, but my now made family (hubbie and DD) are fabulous and i couldn't wish for better. Plus OH's family treat me like their own, even OH's dad tells everyone i'm his daughter, lol - they make up for the rubbishness of my own ;)

I remember saying my speach at work with DD, i burst into tears, LOL - mega embarrassing. It was like i was saying goodbye forever. Worst thing was a week later i found out we'd ALL been made redundant so i really wasn't going back to work after....that was really weird to get my head around!

CAFCGirl, nice to see you coming along well - it's strange to see your 30wks next week, lol, i remember when you just joined us...even though i was only 2/3 weeks ahead, lol so it should't be that strange :p Hope you are keeping well - and it sounds like you got some bargains there for that price!:T

Kelinik - i'll send you some get moving vibes if you like, only if you want them though ;)

SazM -bless, thank you that was really sweet to read! Lol, i am still scared about what'll happen when i do go into labour with regards to DD, we have MIL (who is a head midwife, but has promised if she's not seeing a lady herself she'll come and pick up DD) or my sis-in-law, who works just until 11am each day who has offered to come pick her up and have her for a few days. The only prob is both are 60miles away  - god knows what'll happen if i go into labour at night :eek::eek:. DD will prob end up coming to the hosp with me until someone can get there or baby is out - whichever first. Only thing is i really don't want her to see me in labour - it'll scare her i think :(

Does anyone know what they do if mums in labour turn up with their child?

1more- i have to see my midwife at 23 weeks then 28 weeks but i think it differs from area to area. I know i hare to phone the doctors and make these apps myself. When i got my notes it has an insert with the weeks and the weeks coloured slightly darker are when i need to make an appointment for.

We book our next appointment when we are attending the doctors for the current appointment works for me otherwise i would forget i havent been seen much this time which is really strange for me as with 2nd and 3rd babies i was closely monitored due to placenta previa with 2nd and because the 2nd came early they kept an eye on me with the third. Im gratefull really as i get sick of being poked and prodded :-)

    Just for reference my notes give wks 16 , 28, 34, 36, 38, 40 & 41 for antenatal appointments

LL - huge congratulations, great to see you here.
MGEB - your daughter does sound like a poppet. Mine has her moments, she keeps telling me that everyone has to be nice to me because I have a baby in my tummy!

Edited to add: oops, I didn't think my earlier post had worked, so I duplicated it - sorry
