We expected to be rang tomorrow with the results, so it was a surprise for us that they rang today, a good one.
they culture the fluid to check for infections, so that'll take at least another week, but the quick results check for chromosome disorders like downs and that was all clear, it's unlikely anything will come up on the culture.
With the way she started speaking on the phone, I thought she had bad news.

    Also Congratulations to Gymfiend.
  • Yay for GYM, congrats to you MrGym and baby boy :D

Aww Bunny, that's fab about the amnio, now you can relax and enjoy your pg :D

Gillby, thank you SO much for what you said,(re;families) you really bought a tear to my eye- such a sweet ,thoughtful comment:A
As someone said earlier (MGEB I think) I too am V V lucky to have such a fab DH who actually grew up without a mum himself due to parents break up and his mum suffering a breakdown, strangely (I think because of this) he is so determined to have a strong family unit and is the sweetest man who will do anything for us,we are extremely close and our children are our world so as far as I'm concerened that's all the family I need:love:

Sorry if that's soppy, for once the emotions are positive ones :rotfl:

    Congrats and welcome LL:j

elainec Good luck, enjoy the scan tomorrow :D

  • Sorry for being such a moaner this morning – I bore myself most of the time lol! Thanks for all your lovely messages.

Bexta - my consultant was lovely, very very helpful and understanding which I feel so relieved about especially after hearing many of you ladies stories. Think I can't have any more pain relief due to it not being safe for sprout as I'm on a fair amount of meds for the hyperemesis.

Redstararnie – thank you lovely, yes the children are really fab at caring for me. I made a helping out list which they do and more, they are 10 and 12 and have been very worried about their mum – such a shame, i keep telling my daughter that this isn’t the norm and that she must never be put off in the future! My OH has been amazing too as I now have to hold my hands up and wave the white flag as I just can't do any of the jobs that we're desperate to do as we still have the builders in - no pressure but really want to start nesting soon lol!!!

MGEB – you sound very well informed. Take good care of yourself and sounds like your lovely daughter is trying her best to look after you too, there must be many people in your situation with no one around to help we need a hire an Auntie scheme or something lol! My partner has had to take time off for me and it's a case of either taking holiday or unpaid leave which is very painful on the pay packet or lack of it!

Smartie your toe sounds so painful – hope it gets better soon.

Kelinik – how very exciting you’re so close now!

    1more – i symathise totally with you – big hugs x

I have been seen a little more often by midwife for antental appointments, but I think if you’re pregnancy is running along fine you have them roughly as xmaslolly says.

Thanks so much Sarah Joanne so great to here Gymfiend has been and gone and done it! Can’t wait to hear more and see some photos!

Bunny – that is fantastic news well done that’s just so great, you can now start enjoying it all the more.

Hello and congratulations to you all.

I posted this thread on the discount code forum.

10% off Mamas & Papas only on Saturday and it's supposed to be valid on items already reduced. Online and in store. They have up to 50% off some items at the moment so you could get a good deal. Mamas & Papas stuff is really nice but a bit overpriced so it's good to get it on offer.

They have some nice moses baskets on sale if anyone is looking for one.

Had to have an amnio test yesterday, because my blood test levels came back increased risk for downs.
Hospital have phoned today to say the results were negative, which is all good :j

I'm so happy for you that all is well :j:j
You're the first person I have come across who has actually had this done - all my friends didn't bother having the blood test to check the risk. I have to decide if I want to get the screening done and I keep going round and round in circles. I'm pretty sure I don't want an amnio, although if it comes back high risk I might. Logically, I have come to the conclusion there's no point having it done based on what action I would then take (or not take) but I have a niggly feeling that I should, and am tempted to listen to my instinct - which says have the screening done.

    Sorry, that's a bit muddled :o

CONGRATULATIONS GYM!!!! That's a stubborn little man you have there!

BSM, sorry, I have no idea where I got that your consultant was a twerp. I think I was tryng to do more than one thing at once, which just isn't a good idea at the moment! I'm glad it went well though, I guess it means that you can plan a bit better for bubs arrival if you know when it's coming.

OH has just got himself in a minor tizz over the fact we haven't really got any baby 'stuff' as yet. He's so funny because he was the one who said we shouldn't rush into getting things in the first place. Does anyone else have an OH like mine? He's perfectly sweet and looks after me, but his head is just totally in the clouds about the fact that bubs will be arriving in just under 16 weeks.

I've started noticing things like that as well.....it's mainly been cheese in my case lol.

I think I will get such a shock when I buy a pint of milk with my due date on tho.

Had car problems tonight - I was feeling a bit fed up with myself so DH said we could go out for tea but when we tried to start car it was dead. Looks like the same thing that happened about 6 wks ago when the battery just wouldn't start. DH got it checked out at the time but the honda garage said nothing was wrong. It's a nuicance but I'm so relieved we found out tonight or it would have been very stressful for me in morning. At least I have time to plan an alternate route to work now.

We still went out for tea but had to walk to a different pub instead. It was still really nice and as I've been stuck in all day did me good to get out and get some fresh air.

    Forgot to add early

LeopardLady - so glad to see you back here again. Keeping everything crossed that this time will be it for you x

  • Feel rather rubbish

got up at 2 after a dream about work, feeling sweaty, panicked, short of breath and my heart was pounding - think this qualifies as a panic attack. Going to the docs tomorrow - think I should take a while off work as it's been quite rough lately and it's my only source of stress

Can't get back to sleep - thank god for sky+
Busy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:
