Sir Monster and Esio, thanks for that. I didn't think I'd get the MatB1 form so early to be honest. She just gave it to me at my last appointment, and I was 22 1/2 weeks. I'm not seeing her again until 28 weeks, maybe that's why? It's confusing how all areas seem to operate in different ways for stuff like that.
My MW is quite nice, always running late, but I guess that's no biggie. I just always act like a shy 4 year old around 'grown-ups' (pathetic, I know, cos I'm 30 - but I'm working on it) and never know what I should be asking, doing etc.

Evening all,
Kelinik - party at yours sounds awesome!
CAFC - congrats to OH!!! thats great. I got the letter about the HIPG money the day after i got it in the bank - think they must send them at the same time! Also, if you google for the sure start maternity grant, you can print the form off the net and just post it to them.
Smartie - sorry you're not feeling great and hugs to the wee man for his sore finger! Prayers and good scan vibes on their way to you for Monday.
1more - that's great about the freecycle! well done!
Courgette - you need to sign up for the boots parenting club with your due date and they send you out a magazine with the vouchers in for the change bag and other moneyoff coupons too.
Delain - 3hours is madness!!! i'd have thought with being younger they'd have kept her in for a day or so at least! Hope you're ok, sorry to hear folks not happy re your good news. Hugs!
Fishcake - congrats! i'm jealous! was hoping i'd have been by now too!
Gilly - welcome! i hope the fish supper was good!!!
Well, I treated the family to a day out today - figured it'd prob be the last one for a wee while. We went into town, had KFC boneless box for lunch and then went to see Astroboy at the cinema! It was really good - i wasn't expecting it to be great but really surprised me! Definately worth a watch, my two wee ones loved it.
think its an early nite tonight, lack of sleep really catching up with me!

Hello All
Kindof - glad elliott is getting better and poss being discharged very soon
Hassle - sainsburys mum and baby bundle is def worth it, you need to buy a pack of huggies to get it free (use the £1 off huggies voucher at same time that came in welcome pack)
boots changing bag is ok does the job def not worth £30 though - you have to buy pampers nappies, we brought 2 packs sz 3 on offer for £10 i think.
Tesco you get a free hamper worth £30 when buy pack of pampers its ok we both signed up and we only bothered getting one lot. You get a plastic cheap looking changing box to keep bits and bobs in, some panetene hair rescue conditioner things (they are good), few samples face creams and a max factor mascara (expensive but I dont use) and then money off coupons in the box, 2 best ones were £3 off pampers newborn sz 1 (so only cost 74p) and £1 off pampers wipes (good when on bogof as got 2 packs for £1.29)
Ok I sound really sad with all my bargain hunting now but baby will have wipes to last the first year been buying huggies pure, pampers sensitive and simple as all ok on my face and I have mega mega sensitive skin.0 -
CAFC - huge congrats to your husband, that's fab news. My HIPG went into my account and then I got a letter a few days later!
Courgette - the 28 weeks bump 2 baby pack from emma' diary is even worse! Couple of sachets of moisturiser and loads of advertising.
Gena - congrats on your engagement. I've been using bio oil and have no stretch marks but about 3 weeks ago I switched to lush therapy as I got sent it from bizzie baby. Still no stretch marks despite a massive amount of growing in that time, so would guess any moisturiser would have done. My mum never got them either so think I;m just v lucky!
Congrats to Fishcake - can't wait to hear all the details
I can't remember when Gymfiend was last on - hope her dad was right and baby came on 19th so she doesnt need inducing.
re pampers box I didnt get any pantene stuffWas so disappointed with max factor mascara as it was blue!!! boooo

I just always act like a shy 4 year old around 'grown-ups' (pathetic, I know, cos I'm 30 - but I'm working on it) and never know what I should be asking, doing etc.
Bexta - i know exactly what you mean. I'm 31 and still feel like a teenager around 'proper' grown-ups and my midwife is 3 years younger than me!:rotfl:
Fish supper was lovely, thanks! Even worth the complete soaking i got on the walk. Sadly, my pregnancy clumsiness seems to be getting worse as i managed to tip the whole lot onto the floor when i was only half way through! I can't even hold onto a pen without dropping it these dayys - goodness knows how i going to manage with a whole baby!
Still, it's probably for the best. Have managed to put on 1st 10lbs so far, which sounds ok, but i can see that creeping up quickly once i'm on maternity leave. Must plan things to do stop me eating all day long!Debt free date: October 2006 :money:0 -
Talking of stretch marks - does Bio Oil work in preventing them? I know lots of people use it but I haven't got any yet. I've already got loads of body lotion/butter and would rather not buy something else if what I've got is likely to be good enough.
Gena, i've been using bio-oil since about 12 weeks, and i still don't have any stretch marks, so i'm keeping my fingers crossed! My mum and sister both got them though, so i reckon i might end up with a few.:o
Does anyone have any idea how to tell which way the baby is lying? At my last midwife appointment they told me he was in breech, but he's been wriggling loads since then and i have no idea where he is now! I genuinely can't tell which bit is poking out where. All i know is that i can feel his hiccups really low down - literally in line with my hip bones?Debt free date: October 2006 :money:0 -
Just popping on to say I have a request from a Daddy to join the Fairy Exchange. Initials GW - Can you PM me your username0

I find when I lie down it's more obvious where baby is but it's normally only his back that I can see. I know from both times midwife has checked that he his head down, and I can feel his feet booting me in the ribs! When he hicups it's above/around my bellybutton that I feel it thoMummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
