Haha look on the brightside FR, you're not overdue yet, so much more annoying when you are!! I had a text from someone yesterday saying 'baby almost here yet?' - err, I would think so, yes! He can't stay in all that much longer, grrrrrrr. I've just emailed OHs mum (they live abroad) saying 'sorry I've not been replying to your texts, not getting much at the moment cash wise with being on basic government rations, so don't want to up my phone bill', hopefully it'll give her the hint that she can stop texting me asking everyday!

Kitkat I've not ever bought any but my local MC had some in the sale last week when I was in & others have suggested Matalan :) I've bought normal £4 bra's from George @ Asda which have done the job :)

Arghhh! Tell me about it! I was 2.5 weeks overdue with DD and as I was working up until due date they ran a 'book' at work to see if anyone got it right. They all put a £1 in and winner took all sort of thing. I surpassed all expectations and the latest guess was 9 days overdue so they won it as they were closest. I had people constantly asking, until the last few days when even they got sick of asking and all seemed to go quiet! ha ha!

Also at work had the extra 'fun' of people jumping out on me etc to try and get things moving on 'their' day! :D

Ahh EA how lovely you have a smelly nappy to change, I'm so pleased for you :D Sounds like your birth was pretty much perfect sans tear, well done you :D

Lol Fernlie, how funny! How come you got to 2 and a half weeks? Did you choose not to be induced?

OH just rang - he's coming home to 'take me for a walk', he's got a way with words haha

EA - I know how busy you are honey, but quick question. Was it the Mary Rose center you went to??? That's where I'm planning on going but can't remember if you were too.

OH is now on route to walk me home bless him. Twinges still coming so going to have a cup of RLT and then waddle to tesco and back. I'll try and pop on later to let you all know whats happening. The last hour though they have been getting longer so now lasting about 20-30 seconds. Getting a bit bored now to be honest. lol

Kindof every contraction will be doing something even if they are so far apart so you arent in pain for no reason. My first one took 72hrs to appear fingers crossed you arent like it for that long.

Fishcake i went into labour with my first on april fools day at 2am i told her she wasnt allowed to come out until the next day well she listened as i said above it was april 3rd before she came out think she wanted to make me suffer for making her wait lol ;-)

  • EA – thank you so much for sharing those amazing first photos – what a special moment and wow a lovely sloppy kiss for Lilly! She’s is just gorgeous!:T

Som – big happy birthday to you!
Pigpen lol – I had a massive clearout ‘during’ delivery – wandered what the smell was and realized it was me!!!!:rotfl:
Kindof - at antenatal class last night they said don’t time contractions. The best indicator is when you can talk still, you don’t need to go into hospital, but if you can’t concentrate to answer a question that’s when you need to go in. Although I really was sat there thinking surely that depends how far you have to travel to get into hospital loL!!! I really can’t remember much of my last birth as I was in the zone for most of it lol!! But it was five hours from the first pain and I think I was only in hospital for just an hour before delivering, much much quicker than my first which was around 24hrs I think.
Massive labour vibes to all that need it x

Mo - when I was in hospital last thur being checked for the pain in my ribs, MW said BP is not the only indicator for pre elcampsia!! Not sure what she meant by that butI think that was possibly there concern with me cos they mentioned liver too. Sorry prob no help at all but thought I'd mention it!

Kitkat - will depend on your size but matalan do bras 2 for £10, peacocks are £5 and Tesco v plain but only £4 tend to be smaller sizes tho so would try them to be sure.

Thanks to those additional peeps who wished me Happy Birthday cince my last thanks x

well pizza nommed :D and followed up with tiramisu Mmmmm :D

Got a nice chunk of money from mum and a lil bit from MIL so can afford to get 32gb Ipod touch :D Fig its the last time I'll get the luxury of something flashy.

kindof - hope thinks keep progressing for you x

Have decided to expect the worse (induction in a week) then anything else is a plus :D

    right off for another walk!

  • Maureen I just got my file :)

Ok my High BP readings were

    140/90
    138/90
    152/90
    142/86

Then my BP sorted itself out, my MW wasnt majorly concerned as at booking in I was 120/80 which apparantly is quite high anyway???
    gymfiend wrote: »
Hope it sorts itself out Mo, do your notes show what it's been throughout, i.e. has it ever been raised before?

    Thanks for listening guys!
So far they have been 118/80, 122/78, 130/80, 142/78, 130/80, 120/70 - that last low one was on 1st of March.
Kindof - 120/80 is considered to be the 'normal' bp for an adult so not at high in the slightest (unless there are medical reasons for someone to need it lower, i guess).

the reading at 142/78 was the highest this pg but the bottom number still lower than 'normal' so not a cause for concern and no other symptoms at that point.

I've just checked it again just now and has come down to 137/86 which seems to bring it back into 'normal' ranges again. Will check it again in a couple of hours but i reckon its maybe just been a random high probably cos i've been overdoing it!:o I've got midwife on Monday and i'll let her know then anyway.

    thanks again,
    mo x

Thanks Som, yeah, they look out for protien in the urine as an indicator which also has implications for the kidney's. Not sure about the liver thing. Also, swelling of the extremities, ie feet/ankles and hands but more concern if swelling in the face too apparently. But they take the big picture. I just was bit worried as i've had a couple of headaches in last few days but i reckon its dehydration and water retention as (sorry if tmi) my urine's been really dark and i know myself i've not been having enough water!
So i've up'd the water intake and taken to sitting with my feet up!:) Just a pain when you've just got comfy and need to run to the loo! :rotfl:
