Thanks for the advice guys :)

The contractions are weird, they are really strong and lasting more than a minute but just not regular, I was on the phone to my mam and I had two while on the phone, and mam asked if they hurt and the easiest way to describe it was that yes they really hurt, and if they happened at that strength and every 5 mins in an hour for example I would want pain relief

BUT as it happens, I am getting them with no pattern as such, I could get two 5 mins apart then not have another one for 30 mins or more.

So I do believe they are the real deal but obv arent regualr enough to do anything?

Do you think they could still be dialating me?

My inner thighs have really started hurting me as well, bump feel sooooo heavy as well

Fishcake Ive had 5 poops today lol :) so yeah I think its body getting rid

ETA Gym yes I went for a walk thanks, then totallt wiped out on sofa lol just woke up :) aww at least you knew the post office staff lol

  • Kind of - they sound like mine but I'm not in pain really, they do make me stop for a mo but I'd say they were uncomfortable not painful, no worse than having a stitch level of pain. Some are definately stronger than others. And between every 10-20 minutes. I sneezed earlier and that set one off 5 minutes after the last one but thats the closest 2 i've had so far so I'm not counting it lol.

Fishcake feel free to queue jump, I think keeping your legs crossed for another 3 weeks would be difficult :rotfl:

Maureen don't worry about Fishcake queue jumping, 2nd of April was my original due date so I'm more than happy to take her place :rotfl:

More good news is the consultant doesn't want to see me any more and I've been booked into the Grange Birthing Centre in Petersfield providing Izzy plays ball and gets into the right position :D

Labour Vibes to those that want them xxx

Fishcake - hope your long walk keeps things going - let us know how you're getting on!! its so exciting!

Moosmummy - my original due date (going by period/cycle) was 28th March but 12 week scan put me back 5 days to 2nd April - i'm still holding out for end of March tho! lol
Thats great about consultant being happy with you!
Hope the scan goes well for you and izzy gets into position without the turning needed, i'm sure i read that manual turning can be quite uncomfortable.

Question re pre-eclampsia - I've had fairly normal blood pressure all the way through my pg and never had raised bp at any time in the past whether pg or not. Does anyone know what sort of level it would need to be at before mw would worry about it? Is there any other symptoms I should be looking for other than raised bp in relation to pre-eclampsia?

    thanks in advance

Yeah the two I had on the phone to mam were the closest together Ive had as well, I am using the contraction timer just so I can see the pattern if there is one.

Mine do hurt, like I said if they were coming every 5 mins for an hour I would want some pain relief, but becasue sometimes thre is like 40 mins between each one I can handle it

There is soooo much pressure on my bum though as well

Maureen I was supsected as javing it when my BP hit 140/90, I also had slight protein in urine and swollen feet

The MW monitored by BP for over a week and it came back down itself

I ended up seeing midwife weekly from 33 weeks

Afraid I don't know anything about BP Mo, hopefully someone else will :)

Well I'm jealous of all your pains - I think my boy's holding out so he can be an Aries like his mum, I'd quite like that :D

  • Thanks kindof.
I've got a bp monitor in the house that i bought as a student nurse and when i checked about 30mins ago it was sitting at 145/101!!!
This is the highest i've ever been, normally i sit around the average 120/80. I'm gonna keep an eye on it every half hour or so for a wee while and see if it comes down - think i've been overdoing it.
Will call mat unit later if still no changes.

Hope things speed up for you, take care!

Maureen I just got my file :)

Ok my High BP readings were

    140/90
    138/90
    152/90
    142/86

Then my BP sorted itself out, my MW wasnt majorly concerned as at booking in I was 120/80 which apparantly is quite high anyway???
