Huge Congrats EA, Lily is gorgeous and I love the middle name you've chosen
Happy Birthday Som
Kindof I really hope you can get some rest, if this is it you'll need to keep your strength up.
Fishcake feel free to queue jump, I think keeping your legs crossed for another 3 weeks would be difficult :rotfl:
Maureen don't worry about Fishcake queue jumping, 2nd of April was my original due date so I'm more than happy to take her place :rotfl:
Sorry I've been missing in action for so long ladies, I just haven't felt like posting because it seems once one problem is sorted another one crops up.
I had a scan a few weeks ago to check the placenta and the good news is it's moved right up out of the way but I found out Izzy is tranverse and I have excess fluid so, as the sonographer put it, I could pop at any time which is not good if she's still transverse. I saw the midwife a week after the scan and she thought Izzy was oblique with her head at my right hip and her feet under my left boob so she was nearly there but I have another scan tomorrow to check and if she still isn't head down I have to go to the hospital to have her turned.
More good news is the consultant doesn't want to see me any more and I've been booked into the Grange Birthing Centre in Petersfield providing Izzy plays ball and gets into the right position

EA she is gorgeous and look at all that hair. Hope you get some more rest and she settles down with her feeding pattern :-) x
Who asked about the contractions cant remember? I found every birth is different but yes when i was in labour with bubs i would have a little one then an almighty one that took my breath sometimes. The first one they pretty much killed the whole way through ( but that could have been in my head as it was first and i didnt know what to expect) and with the second they were strong all the time but didnt seem as painfull :-)
Kingoff as long as they dont stop thats what matters my friend just had mild back pains and tummy cramps pretty much the whole way through until bubs was more or less ready to come out and then they went really strong and fast just keep a mental note of how you feel down below ya know in case he feels heavier or you have any urges :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -

I'm still here, still having 2 or 3 squeezes an hour.
Warning tmi comming,
I've had about 3 little poops today so I wonder if that my clearing process??? Some people say they have the poops I think.
If I'm still like this at 5 when we close the shop I'm gonna try a cup of RLT and a long walk to the supermarket and back to see if that does anything lol. Might be curry for dinner.lol

Kindof, If you can sleep through the pains don't worry about timing them. If they are waking you up then time then, but don't worry too much as all they do is help you to see a pattern don't affect actual labour iyswim. Try and get as much sleep as poss, as I mentioned before I had 3 days of contractions that were regular (between 10-20 mins) and strong enough that I couldn't sleep through, then a 26 hour labour. It was the tiredness that did me in, I just felt useless at the end, get as much rest as poss. Hopefully you will have a lovely quick labour like EA as all these little contractions might be dilating you slightly, or at least prepping so just take it easy.0

Moos - good news on the consultant, hope the scan goes well tomorrow & Izzy is in position for you.
Here's hoping the falling over is a sign that labour's gonna start, cos I have no other signs haha! I think I've lost my marbles - walked all the way to the post office earlier, put my parcels through, went into my pocket and realised I'd forgot my cardHad to traipse all the way home for it - good 10 minute uphill walk, grrrrrrr. Thankfully I know the post people so they weren't too pee'd off about it!!
Baby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j0 -
Hi everyone,
Re. the elective c-sections perhaps it depends where you are? My consultant told me that they usually do them a week early at 39 weeks, and that's when they've booked me in for.
EA - thanks for sharing the pics of Lily, she's beautiful.
Labour vibes for Gym, Som, Kindof and Fishcake.
Well, flaming scare-mongering midwife! The woman doing my scan this morning said that not only is baby NOT small, in fact he's slightly bigger than average and everything measure's absolutely fine.
So thank-you everyone for all your reassurances, if I had gone just by what the midwife said I would have been terrified for the past ten days and totally spoilt my holiday, but thanks to you lot I managed to keep my nerves more or less under control.Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky'
