EA, how about something lush, just for you, for when Miss Lily makes here appearance. Or, maybe charm/s for your bracelet?

Hi I haven't posted on here before but I think I need advice and all the special 'mum' websites don't seem to have many active posters! I am 33 weeks pregnant with baby 3 DS is 3.5 and DD is 12 months. My concerns are with DS, when DD was born his behaviour was diabolical for months afterwards with constant attention seeking, breaking everything in sight, pooing all over the house and rubbing it on his toys etc. I asked the health visitor for advice but she said he needs individual attention and I said he gets 99% of the attention to the point where I feel like I am ignoring the new baby and she had no suggestions.

Anyway now I am worried about it happening again and that I cannot cope because I am already completely exhausted. I tried talking to him about the new baby yesterday and he said he hates it and to make it go away. I said it was already living in my tummy and he said to pull it apart and send it back or give it to grandma. Has anyone been through this and is there anything I can do to make the situation better? So far all I can think of is buying a toy as a present from the new baby.
  • Hi everyone, havent posted for a few days but just had a little catch up,
Seems there are about 4 of you going to have popped in the next couple of weeks! Hopefully sooner though!

Ymakesmile - I have 20 week scan on Wednesday and im really nervous too, it was this scan with my first when we found out about his renal 'abnormalities' as they put it at the time and it was so overwhelming and stressfull not knowing any real details that now im just really apprehensive for this one. I know there is like a one in a million chance it would happen again but its just nerve wracking, on the same not I simply cant wait till its over so me and OH can have minds put at rest!
I also was 99% sure i was having a boy last time and was right, this time I think its another boy, so we will see!!

EA - DS was like that with mens voices too, maybe its cos they are louder?? ha who knows!

OH is at work again, he works in a restaurant so works reallly long hours, he has 3 days of though from tomorrow so excited for some family time!

Also wondering if any of you parents know what the 'family element' of child tax credits is? Have been looking on direct gov for info on benefits e.c.t and I can get maternity allowance cos Ive only not been working a few months, but also it says you can get the sure start maternity grant if you get child tax credit at a higher rate than the 'family element'

Hope everyone is ok! LMF; ur little man is soooo cute!! Looking forward to seeing more baby pics :)

Been abit emotional today; getting my new car tomorrow (not brand new!) and had to empty out the old one. OH bought this car brand new, and I bought it off him when he bought something abit sportier, I think I probably am stupid thinking this about a car but I feel so attached to it! We had our first few holidays taking the car away, we have sooo many memories, and I have to change it purely as it needs soo many repairs its cheaper for me to change it, plus I need 5 doors now!! I came in the house with the odds and ends out of it and couldn't stop crying! OH was laughing his head off but I still couldnt stop! He kept saying 'its just a car' lol.

Ymake, can't comment on the gender thing, except to say 'good luck' for your scan, it's exciting to be half way there isn't it?

I must admit it seems really surreal to be at the half way mark. At one point I never thought i was going to get past the 12 week mark. Now I feel like I will never get to the giving birth part but I am sure it will be here in no time at all and that's SCARY :rotfl:

The family element is £545 per child which is doubled for a child under one. For example if you had one 3 year old and one 6 month old and were getting £1635 a year in child tax credit then you are just getting the family element. If you are getting more then I guess you should try for the grant. It tells you on the letter they send which bit of tax credit is the child tax credit, it is seperate from the childcare bit etc.

snugglepet - that sounds awful. I don't have any other children myself but my cousin has problems with her little girl when the new baby was on the way. (she had always hated babies and didn't want one!) They just reallly bigged up how much fun she'd have with her new sister and her Grandma told her lots of stories about what she and her sisters had done as children. (they made sure they found out the sex so that they could this!) Other than this they just constantly reassured her of how special she was and how important being a big sister was etc, and spoke of it all in as positive a way as possible. I'm sure you've already done a lot of this anyway tho. They also made sure that anyone coming round paid the eldest lots of attention before seeing the baby, and when people kept offering to take the eldest to the park she'd ask them to alternate between her and the baby so that they both got time alone with her.

EA - thanks for the tip with the 02 sim cards yesterday, I ordered 3 and it's tracked at £3 :)

I'm going to tesco tomorrow with my vouchers from the baby club. Does anyone know where I'll find the Pampers Hamper and also if nappies count as 'Baby Essentials' I have a voucher for £2 off when you spend £10 on baby essentials and wondering if I can use this alongside the nappies and wipes vouchers.

    2nd ETA
If anyone else has the huggies £1 off wipes voucher for tesco the huggies pure wipes are £1.24 until 16th March making them a bargainous 24p!!!
