Hi everyone hope all those waiting for babies to come asap get some luck!!
KitKat - I had had my belly button peirced for 7 years when i had my first and i took the bar out knowing it wouldnt heal which it didnt. I had put on 4 stone at the end and my belly was ginormous, like literally that is where all the weight gain seemed to go and once my belly shrunk back down afterwards it looked exactly the same. If you havent had it done a few years or so prob best to get on of those maternity bars if you would rather it didnt heal.
Talking of weight gain though, this pregnancy is completely different, last time it was just the belly now at coming on 19wks i just seem to be gaining flabby bum flabby belly biggg boobs, ha last time my boobs didnt grow till the alst month and my friends swore i didnt look pregnant from behing!
Has anyone else experienced this with 2nd baby? Seeming to carry a completely different way, my mum seems to think it cos you just get a fat bump with boys but girls make you flabby so im having a girl apparently!! ha we will see what the scan says!
Xmas- I never thought about filming the birth, dont think its something id ever want to watch tbh, although it could come in handy as a good sex deterrent for when the kids are older!!
DS got hold of the baby parent moniter and bashed it into the wall a few times, now it just beeps incessantly so need a new one! it was a tomy one, never heard of angelcare?0 -
yes, you need spare trousers!! Even if your waters haven't gone by the time you're ready to go to the hospital, you never know they may go on the way. Mine were gross and damp (TMI, sorry
) and definitely not something I would've wanted to go home in! My hospital gave me a gown after I got out of the pool, but I think you generally labour in your own clothes (and I changed into my PJs after I'd been stitched up and stuff and then into 'going home clothes' when discharged).
I wore nothing in the pool (:o) - at that point, I really didn't want the constriction of any type of clothing!! seriously by then, you just don't care...top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne
would like to win a holiday, please!!

Have to second aless on the "you just dont care front" you have your foof out for the world to see your in alot of discomfort so who cares if your boobs are on show too. You will find once your there things just take their course you dont have time to worry about alot of things you just worry about getting baby out and that he/she is ok :-)
OMG i have just had a small glass of wine and i feel like i have been out on the town half the night i think a pint of water is required then bed :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
I third that! All you will care about is what is most comfortable!
I don't think they would let you use GHDs, Som, as everything electrical has to have been tested by them!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Aless - thanks for that will deffinatley be sure to take an extra pair of trousers now, the only issue is I dont have enough yoga pants to pack one pair so will have to remember to grab them on the way out the door.
xmas - deffinatley no filming for me and no pics of goal end either!
EA - they dont seem to do a 16gb in the new 3rd gen ipod! tho the 32gb only a bit more expensive at £230. My birthday is only 11 days away so will see what I get as rents usually give me money, and go from there. TBH I listen to the same music over and over as I tend to go thru phases so the 8 gb would be ok, and OH has a £20 Argos gv I can have toward it too.
olipops - oh no poor monitor!Baby :female: Tahlie Lois born 15/3/10 7lb 12 oz :heartpulsWorking on baby no2

Hey ladies,
I had my first scan and book in visit with the midwife today. All went well (except the baby wouldn't stay still long enough for her to get a decent measurement). One thing the midwife said was that breastfeeding is now "expected" of mothers. I didn't think to question at the time but thinking about it, when I had my son 5 years ago, I received NO support at all. They put a lot of pressure on me into trying but provided no support so it didn't work out for long. I asked for help several times in hospital but there was never anyone who could help apart from shoving DS on and walking away. Has support for inexperienced breastfeeders come on since then? I would like to bf for longer this time, I would ask the midwife but I won't see her for another 4 weeks. x0 -
Ah, my one is a 2nd gen ipod. I just paid for the new software lol.
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I just cut OH's hair. I did a hairdressing course but dropped out as im terrible at cutting hair. And now he looks like Spock!! :rotfl::rotfl:
I even cut his fringe dead straight:rotfl:
I had to hoover bump though as it got really hairy
The only reason i packed my bikini top, is because if i use the pool im getting straight in, and i can do from 3cm. So i imagine i will still have some dignity at that time0 -
Has anyone got any baby products they recommend?? All I hav so far is the Tommee Tippee closer to nature feeding stuff, I am hoping to buy bits every couple of weeks so it doesnt seem such a big spend. We aren't buying a cot until just before baby is born (still undecided on it!) and not buying a pram until baby is here! We will buy bits 2nd hand but bedding/ pram/ etc new as we are abit worried as I have a terrible dust allergy and dont want to risk buying 2nd hand stuff that is dust clogged, as even if I wash stuff it still makes it hard for me to breathe, and I am abit worried how the baby will be. Thanks!0
